We had a 25 meter match in Temecula, Ca. on Sunday, a regular monthly meet. The match was great but it is always the after match lunch and discussion that is enlightening.
Guns, targets, wind, excuses, etc. Everyone has an opinion and ya gotta listen close and without a thin skin.

I waited till later after all the important items had been stomped on, kicked, laughed at, and the guys were kinda worn down.

“I have a scope problem I need help with.” You can’t be helped, you have more then just that problem, you need new eyes, you shot the wrong target, etc etc.!!!

Ok what is the trouble? Well my son gave me a 6x24x50 Vortex Viper FFP . I almost fell over it is soooo nice BUT it only focuses down to 50 yards! I can’t use it on my Streamline for the match.

There were offers to trade me for a UTG 3x and one for $20.00. But LD spoke up and said go get it! So off I trotted and came back with this beauty. LD picked it up and said “watch and learn Gelfling”.

Here is what he did. Removed the big front outer ring. It is very tight. Take it all the way off. It is just a lock ring and protector. Then set focus knob at closest distance. Turn (loosen) the tiny ring a 1/4 turn and check at known distance i.e. 25 meters and see if you are in focus. Make tiny adjustments till it comes in focus, reassemble and your done.
I do not know if it affects focus at distance but it is ok as far as I can see.

See attached pictures .

That really made my day!!!

I know someone had asked about changing the focus on a Vortex a week or so back. Hope this helps.
