Fat-Boy 2.0

Thanks DonnyFL !

According to the Decibel X app it is 88 to 90db beside the rifle and back from the muzzle, which is about the sames as the DonnyFL .25/30 cal Shogun I have been shooting.

It is 88 to 89 db with the .22/25 air stripper and 89 to 90 db with the 25/30 air stripper

To be clear it is 10 degrees in ND today so I am shooting out my bedroom window, so probably not very accurate readings !

My M3 is .25 cal shooting NSA 33.6gr. slugs at 1000fps.

To my ear the Fat-Boy sounds slightly quieter than the Shogun.

Looks nice on the M3. Not sure if you have any other DonnyFL’s, but if you do, where would you place it in reference to a Ronin or Koi or other?

I just got the Fat Boy 2 today, very surprisingly it's quite a bit louder than the Ronin on my .30 FX Wildcat and Impact. It's also noticeably louder than even the stock small FX DonnyFL that comes with the factory add on FX airguns (middle one pictured). I'm very disappointed as I like the size and look of it.

I shot some more today, from in the house as it was 10 below zero this morning.

I used the Decibel X app on my phone.

These results are at the muzzle. I fired 3 shots for each.

Fat-Boy 22/25 93.8 db 25/30 94.2 db

FX/DFL 22/25 92.6 db

Shogun 25/30 92.3 db

Dakota Silencer Varminter 4.0 93 db This is a firearm suppressor

To my ear the Fat-Boy was the loudest and the Varminter 4.0 was the quietest then the Shogun and FX.

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed in the Fat-Boy 2.0 but I wanted a shorter suppressor.

It will be interesting to see if the muzzle brake changes the sound???

I'm very disappointed too, I actually just sold mine the same day I got it. I didn't do any decibel readings, but to my ears there was a noticeable sound difference between the ones I had. I have tried many different Donnys and most are a bit hard to tell the difference to the ear, unlike this one. It also had quite a bark when I tried it on a low powered 600fps .30 caliber. That's what surprised me the most. With the Ronin on that one you could hardly hear it.

Also when I ordered mine from Utah Airguns I asked about the muzzle break and Travis said there would be no difference at all using it.
