Farmers Work Shop No Starlings Allowed

Well it is nesting season and the starlings are building nests in all the farm buildings. The farmers particularly don't like them in their shop area where the poop on their tools and them. Most of the time the starling won't hesitate to fly right into the building and not giving giving me a shot. Today the farmers were working in the shop so the starling would hesitate coming in and perched on surrounding structures. Today I was shooting my FX Dreampup with JSB Hades at 880 fps. Bill

Having the same experience here. Did it regularly just before the nest building started though. They'd sit down on a high spot just before they flew in to roost for the night. I started knocking them off at that high point. A few weeks later there were none around. I suspect they just thought there has to be a better place to stay for the night. The farmer who asked me to help out there paid a really nice compliment. He said every year he has had calfs and heiffers die in that barn due to all the feces on the cows backs and feed and generally hitting the food chain. This year he has lost zero.

I alternate between the Taipan Veteran Short and the Dream Tac. I got mine with the carbon fiber bottle and with those big magazines I can shoot until I tire or until the birds do.

I am planning on shooting the Dream tac on low power and start marking where there nests are in the barn and then waiting for the parent to fly in with food for the chicks. I hope that will work.
