Falcon .22 Cal 13.43

I have been shooting Crosman 14.3 premier pellets in the .22 Marauder since 2010. But before i settled on that pellet i decided to try a few others. Sorting thru my pellet cabinet i found two tins of Falcon 13.43 pellets. The tins seemed full, i don't remember shooting them, but i may have. I decided to see how they grouped.

The 14.3 Crosman are hole in hole pellets at 20 yards. I loaded one mag of Falcons and while the group was about a half inch left of the POA, the pellets were hole in hole, an excellent group, that could easily be zeroed. Speeds were all in the 890's, 890 to 899. An excellent pellet and an alternative to the Crosman and 10 to 20 fps faster.

I will order a few tins in the future.

Yes. The Air Arms pellets are made at the JSB factor, but using different pellet dies developed to Air Arms specs.

My experience with shooting JSB and Air Arms pellets from my gas piston guns is as follows:

The 13.43 gr. Air Arms Falcon shoot noticeably better than the 13.43 gr. JSB Exact RS in all of my guns. However;

The 15.89 gr. JSB Exacts shoot considerably better that the 16 gr. Air Arms Field in all of my guns. Go figure.

It's up to you what you shoot, but it sounds like you may be getting the same accuracy, but better performance with the Air Arms Falcons over the Crosman's, which would lead me to believe that the Air Arms will shoot much more consistently in your rifle.

If what I speculate is true, I would go for the more consistent pellet every time, regardless of the price difference. However, you can get the Crosman's almost anywhere, where it is far more difficult to find the Air Arms pellets in the U.S.

Just my 2 cents,

Lou
