All registered shooters, and any who wish to sign up, will be sent our Official EBR 9.5 Lockdown Toolkit! Contained within will be event apparel, 2x Official EBR targets, and other airgun promotional items. This kit will contain everything needed to compete in our Online EBR 9.5 Lockdown Challenge!
Rules to the EBR Lockdown Challenge are as follows:
-
Shoot 1x Official EBR Target Card at 75 yards.
-
Shoot 1x Official EBR Target Card at 100 yards.
-
Shoot One Shot at the Pellet Challenge on each card.
Awesome idea!
I have a couple of clarification questions, and my disclaimer is that I have never participated in an actual EBR competition. Ignorance is bliss! 😃
1. Assume that all registered participants receive only "two" EBR cards in the toolkit? And, that the exact size/dimensions are the same for both the 75 and 100 yard cards for scoring purposes. i.e., ring sizes and diameters are exactly the same for both the 75 and 100 yard official EBR targets? Please confirm.
2. If we want to practice and order "additional" official size EBR target cards, can we order from EBR website or do we have to call and request? This would apply to those who may want to simulate the actual larger official EBR target card vs. using a home printed 8 X ll " card.
3. We have until October 8th to submit ONE each of the 75 and 100 yard cards? Meaning – if you screw up on your official card and shoot a bad card ( i.e., that you receive in the toolkit), there are no other cards or chances to shoot more cards between now and October 8th? Pretty sure this is correct, but please confirm
4. For practicing purposes, many of us are using a variety of 8"X 11" printed official EBR target cards with various dimensions due to our printers, sizes and settings we choose, et. al. Can you include a link in this post to obtain and print the Official 8 X 11" EBR actual size for practicing purposes.? I have it, but I think it's helpful if you post within this link, so everyone has the official size for practicing.
Thanks, Tom

I'm in no way an official here but here's how I think about answers to your questions.
1. I would imagine that the targets sent will be "official" EBR targets.
2. There are "practice" targets that members here have made that can be printed at home and measure out the same as the "official" targets. I think it's best that participants only get one official set of targets to submit. Practice all you want but just like in real life, when you sit down to shoot that official target, you only get one chance. No cherry picking or do overs.
3. Yes. One chance only for your official submission, see #2.
4. I think the official target is in a large format and wouldn't be able to be easily printed at home. I've never seen one in person (can't wait to get my packet in the mail) but the pics I've seen online looked like 25 individual targets for one shot each. I'd suggest finding (or making) something close to slightly smaller for practice rounds.
Official disclaimer… I am often wrong, misguided, slow to understand, not smart, and prone to thinking I know more than I do.

September 3, 2020 at 12:18 pm LinkSome of us here in CA will be participating as a group. Obviously keeping with social distancing guidelines I encourage others to follow. This is a great opportunity for new shooters to get involved and see how much fun these competitions can be.

September 3, 2020 at 1:53 pm LinkThanks Blue! Appreciate your answers and agree with all of the rules and logic. Hopefully at some point the EBR OP will confirm/validate our mutual understanding. I think the target size is exactly the same for both 75 and 100, but not 100% sure.
I think a vast majority use the 8 X 11” home printed actual official size for practice, but I would someday love to try out the actual large official EBR size just to simulate the on site experience.
Dana – Exactly!

September 10, 2020 at 5:07 pm LinkTo answer your questions above, the targets are the same size for the 2 ranges. They are the large format target used at our Extreme Benchrest competition. You can practice on any targets you'd like, but only 2 official cards will arrive in your Toolkit. You need to prepare and then shoot the card like a normal match. There are no "do-overs"!
For those interested in using our printable practice targets, click here to download!
The one change is the deadline. We have extended this to November 30, 2020 due to the huge interest from the World shooters. We wanted to give everyone ample time to receive the Toolkits and get out to shoot, so we have pushed back the deadline to submit your results!

September 16, 2020 at 8:05 am LinkIf you only have apple products try using chrome instead of safari. Had the same problem. Used chrome and it worked fine and PayPal payment was processed. Received an email receipt from PayPal and registration email from EBR. Still haven’t received my toolkit though. That was 8/28. Over two weeks ago. Put off a trip to the range twice waiting for it. If we have to wait till the end of October or sometime in November to shoot the weather here in Michigan May not be to nice. Considering the average day in November is cold, windy, and rainy/snowy. Depending on what part of the state you live in. Not to mention that’s hunting season not target season. Lol.

September 22, 2020 at 1:22 pm LinkWell… guess I'm the first to post.
Greg from AoA brought the kits up to the Az State Championship match this weekend by Mormon Lake for those who had entered and were attending the match. I had made backers and stands and we scheduled a group shoot for Sunday mid day. I was disappointed that only 3 of us decided to participate but we had a good time, anyway. Gave 30 minutes for sight in and shooting 25 shots for score. The wind was quite difficult… from 1 to 7 mph and constantly switching from all directions. We tried to make the best of it, as it would be at EBR for a scheduled event, and probably as at EBR… were a little disappointed with our scores…. but we gave it our best.
The weather was awesome, at least, and a pleasant place to shoot.
Here is my 75 yard… 229, 7x.
Here is my 100 yard… 217, 2x.
Sorry for those that chose not to participate.
FUN STUFF!

September 22, 2020 at 2:57 pm LinkMuch like he outshot me at the AZ state meet and the Virtual EBR, Arzrover beat me to posting results too!😃 As mentioned by Arzrover, the conditioners were challenging, especially being a rookie for this being my first time shooting at 75 and 100 in an EBR type environment. I had bought a RAW that I specifically purchased to practice for EBR this year and as we all know, your plans do not always work out as expected. But this contest is a nice respite for all of the things going on in todays world. I really want to thank Robert from AoA for coming forward with this virtual event, THANKS Robert! I also want to extend thanks to Arzrover for putting together the materials and the opportunity to shoot when all of us were at the state meet, THANKS Bob! I was really going to wait for ideal conditions but when ever are EBR conditions even close to ideal!
With all of that said, here are my offerings, first is my setup, a RAW HM1000x in 22 cal with a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25×56
Here is my 75 yard card where I was kind of hanging in with Arzrover until I had two shots in one bullseye that knocked me from a 224 down to 214 with 5X's. Bummer, but rules are rules!😂
And lastly, here is my 100 yards target, try as I may I could not guess the hold off for the wind but I am learning every day I shot a 202 with 3X's. You can see by the sighters that I was having some troubles!!!!
Sure was a lot of fun with good friends and very nice environment (other than that pesky wind

September 22, 2020 at 5:06 pm LinkLast but not least…well maybe least. I won’t bore you with excuses but I will say I need a lot more practice with the wind. I was actually able to shoot a pretty good 75 yard target but moving out to 100 really changes a lot of things. It was certainly a challenge which is what we wanted. We know we can shoot in great conditions but when will that ever happen at EBR, probably never. I challenge others to challenge themselves with conditions that may not be perfect. See how you can do. We did have a great time with the competition and thanks to AOA for getting us our shooting kit. I’m sure everyone should be receiving them very soon. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing all the targets get posted.
Our shooting group. Beautiful venue none the less.
75 yard 233 5x with Ruby
100 yd 196 1x
Missed the pellet by a mile LOL
