Events Extreme Benchrest 2015

Looks like it will be a great event. I just glanced over the rules & I have 3 questions:
  1. Extreme BR says targets at 75 & 100 yards. Are the different distances for different classes? Or is 100 yards for the final shootout?
  2. Big Bore BR says no power restrictions, does that mean shooters can shoot "slugs"?
  3. It looks like shooters come from all around the world. It would be nice if the range was open a day or two in advance for shooters to practice and sight their guns in after traveling. What day & time does the range open?

  1. Sorry we took this long to see this. Here are the answers to your questions quoted above:
    1. This year we advanced from last year due to the drastic wind shift between relays. So, everyone shoots at 75 yards to qualify within their relay and the finals will be moved to 100 yards because...well, because we coined the term Extreme Benchrest!
    2. Not can, but must. The Big Bore BR is limited to slug guns only.
    3. The public ranges will be open daily, including Wednesday Sept 30th. No support from the event will be on site these days, but the normal range officials will be there to assist. We are taking early registrations at our store on Wednesday, so if you are in town, swing by and get the paperwork out of the way. On Thursday, Oct 1st we will be at the range for registration, and there will be sight-in available from 9am to 4pm. Throughout the day, there will be the Field Target Match as well, setup nearby on the dedicated FT Course. The Shooter's Meeting will follow at 4:15pm.

We look forward to seeing everyone! Sign-ups are filling up quickly, so don't wait too long to get registered if you plan on coming out. Look for details and more information as the event draws near on the main page at www.extremebenchrest.com.

Hello aoa i want to get a clear and correct the rumors about your extreme benchrest
shoot . I shot last year had a blast i went with a friend and now all i hear is that fx and aoa fixed the classes so fx could win ! Did fx / aoa hand out 9 guns to shooters at
extreme? Or any guns? And one more question is the sportsmen class graded on a "curve" and not the same as pro class? Thanks for your time see you in oct all signed up

For folks attending this years EBR and needing a place to stay, I have two unused bedrooms and full bathroom available for free. Mi case es su casa!

Each bedroom can accommodate up to 2 people. The rooms are newly carpeted though they are unfurnished so you will need to provide your own pillows, sleeping bag, etc. The house has central Air conditioning and you are free to watch TV, use the internet, and cook to your hearts content. I live in Ahwatukee (Phoenix) surrounded by the foothills of South Mountain. I'm about a 30 min drive from the range and event. You are more than welcome to carpool with me each day as long as there is space.

If interested, just send me a PM and we can take it from there. Again, this is for attendees of the 2015 EBR only.

Cheers,
Scott

PlanB -

From last years event
25 yards = 1-1/2" diameter
75 yards = 5-1/8" diameter

Don't know what the 100 yd will "officially" be but my guess is that it will be the same as the 75.
200 yards... Who knows I haven't checked to see if they posted it yet.
FYI, You can get samples of the targets by going to AoA Website, then to Extreme Benchrest, then to the rules. There will be downloadable targets there.

See you there!
