AOA Grand Prix Extreme Field Target Prizes:

3 AOA GP points for first plus $1,000 cash

2 AOA GP points for second plus $500 cash

1 AOA GP point for third place plus $250 cash

1 AOA GP point is also given to everyone attending the match.

Prize money for the Extreme Bench Rest will be as follows:

$250 for first place

$150 for second

$100 for third

$50 for fourth

Depending on number of contestants, we will have 3 or 4 relays Sat. & Sun. to shoot two cards for a 500 total possible points. We will be shooting the 100 yard 25 bull, 3’x4’ AOA Extreme Bench Rest targets, and for Extreme Field Target, we will have 10 lanes with 2 targets at 25 to 100 yards for two days of 40 shot Extreme Field Target.

On Friday, we’ll also have a speed silhouette match with two lanes with two 5 paddle targets sets, one at 50 yards and one at 35 yards. This will be head to head contests and we will keep track of the fastest times. We will have both a semi-auto and manual advance class. You pay $5.00 per try and can try as many times as we can fit into the schedule, depending on number of contestants. We will try to match the fastest times against each other on second attempts. Only 10 pellets can be loaded in your magazine at start, but you can have a second mag loaded and ready if needed… if you don’t miss, you don’t have to change mags. The kill paddles are three @ 1- 9/16” and two @ 7/8” at each distance. The prize money will be made up from the match fees, so the more attempts, the larger the prize money. We’ll have 1st 2nd and 3rd.

While the speed silhouette is going on, we’ll use some of the benches for a game we have had some requests for: a Friday Pistol bench rest match while the speed silhouette contest is going on. Only two at a time can compete for the speed silhouette. So…While you are waiting for your turn at the speed silhouette, you can shoot a bench rest card with an air pistol with a barrel 15" or less, and .177 calibers only. We’ll do the prizes the same way $5.00 per card shoot as many as we have time for and highest card wins. 1st 2nd and 3rd.

So, bring a scoped pistol for some extra fun if you like. We'll shoot the standard 25m air rifle target at 15 yards instead of 25 yards. Match fees for the speed silhouette and pistol bench rest will make up the prize money for those events respectively.

Site in practice will also be available at the site in area and on any free benches while these events are going on Friday.

It’s a great site along the creek where we have a long covered picnic table & “wailing wall” for viewing the targets shot, and relaxing and eating while waiting for your relay on the benches or Speed Silhouette course.

Saturday the Extreme Field Target matches will start at 9:30am and 8:30 am on Sunday Morning. Then we’ll shoot the 100 yard EBR targets around noon on Saturday, and Sunday starting at 11:00 am so we can do the awards and get folks heading home as early as possible.

The distances will be posted on the Extreme Field Targets. Target paddles will range from 7/8” to 4” set from 25 to 100 yards. Timers will be used and competitors will be allowed 3 minutes per lane, to shoot 4 shots on target. Every shot will count for score, no practice shots during the match. One lane will be standing offhand with support from a bipod. There will be 10 lanes, with two targets, two shots per target. 40 shot match each day. 80 shots will be possible over both days.

Hi Central Oregon,

You might want to come down and shoot one of our fun matches on a Saturday. You can get a feel for the event on the actual FT course and 100 BR yard targets. The speed silhouette is also set up.

Both rigs should work well. For the field target the targets are 25 to 100 yards, so you need marks for every 5 yards between those distances. We'll post the distances this year, so you'll have more time to focus on your shot and the wind. It's a good idea have about 75 yards be the center of the elevation adjustment of your scope so you'll have a good clear picture from 75 to 100 yards for seeing your misses or hits hopefully:)

If your gun is not set up for these distances, then it's really a good idea to come down some weekend.. week days can also be arranged.

Fred, Yes, No Slugs classes. Only factory made pellets allowed.

Air Guns of Arizona Championship Match bonus Points Breakdown:

This is only n the extreme field target event. If at least 6 competitors register for under 45fpe AND over 46 to 100fpe, at least 5 days ahead of time, then I'll breakdown the 6 allowed points as follows: Note that everyone gets one point for just shooting the event... plus:

2 points first place under 45fpe

1 point second place under 45fpe

2 points first place 46 to 100fpe

1 point second place 46 to 100fpe

But if less than 6 pre register for each class, like 3 -5 in under 45 and everyone else in the other class, then 1 point for winner of the under 45fpe class and:

3 points for winner of 46 to100fpe

2 points for second in 46 to 100fpe

Or visa/versa if under 45fpe has the most shooters..

I think that sound more fair, but I'm open to discussing it for a little while more before the event.

Robert from AOA has graciously agreed to provide $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third place for the EFT match. This will only be for the highest three scores for the extreme field target contest. Thanks so much Robert and AOA. Please support them with your air gun and supply purchases. Robert said they will send some other goodies also to give away.

We also have had only about 15 registered so far and they are mostly all in the 40 to 60fpe range. So, with these two new developments, I've decided to only have one class for both EFT and EBR.

The Extreme Field Target Grand Prix points that you can add to your score at the EFT Championship match in AZ in Oct. will be awarded as follows:

3 points for first plus the $1,000 cash

2 points for second plus the $500 cash

1 point for third place plus the $250 cash

1 point is also given to everyone attending the match.

Prize money for the Extreme Bench Rest will be as follows:

$250 for first place

$150 for second

$100 for third

$50 for fourth

We have had some wonderful much needed rain and snow this month, but it looks like it will clear up just in time for the match. Chilly temps in the mid 60s and lows in the high 30s. so bring warm clothes and a rain coat just in case we still get a shower.

here is a link to a nearby weather station you can watch as the time approaches.
