Evinex air speed gen 2 on the way!

I just bought an evinex air speed gen 2 in 22 cal of the member classifieds for 525 bucks shipped. I don't really know much about the gun but I think that's a good deal. Anyway a year or two ago I was seeing videos pop up about it and it just looked really fun. After watching some videos from hajimoto and others I got some basic info on the gun. The gen 2 has a carbon fiber tube that can fill to 250 bar. The gen 2 has a new magazine that allows shorter pellets to feed properly Wich is important to me because I want to use CPH when I am just messing around in the backyard. Also I heard you should never shoot the gun under 100 bar. Other than that I'm totally in the dark about much else. This was one of those impulse buys when you see something that makes you feel like you 12 years old again. I've been wanting a semi auto pcp since I knew they existed. Anyway I will let you all know how it works out. for those of you who have experience with this gun Is there anything else that I should really know about it? I know how to maintain a PCP air rifle but is there anything you would do different on a semi auto than a standard PCP? Anyway I am mainly just excited and wanted to tell all my buddies about this cool find.

Will do Doug. Since I broke my leg I don't have access to a range so all my testing will be done in my back yard. I only have 10 yards there but it will be a good start. Ill Chrono everything and give you guys a spread and let you know how it cycles. If I have to I'll put a reg in it but if it has consistency good enough for hunting I'm not touching it. I saw hajimoto put one in and it was easy as pie. I'm super stoked about this one. As long as it cycles and has hunting accuracy I'm going to be a happy camper.

If you get a good one , be ready to be impressed. I fill my .25 cal to 230 bar and shoot down to 130. Gives plenty of shots at 40fpe . The trigger is a little strange as you need to jerk it rather than an even pull but even then it’s not that bad of a trigger. Be careful if you remove the stock to not over tighten the stock screw , it put pressure on the action and stock causing some distortion and may lead to cracking. The way the valve works almost makes the shot string seem like a regulated rifle, very consistent. You will of course need more pellets than your used to . Enjoy the new gun.

I had a Gen 1 .22 Air Speed and it had some issues, the biggest was the magazines, so hopefully the Gen 2 Magazines fixed the problem with mis-feeds and jams. I also ended up having to replace the steel spring that held the pellets in the magazines with an 0-ring since every one of the steel springs failed. They worked good with the o-rings and never had an 0-ring fail. The safety on my Gen 1 never worked, it could not be reliably engaged, so just remember to always fire it down range one time after removing the magazine, since it's always cocked and ready to fire! I always stored it without a magazine in the breech and always fired it down range after I removed the magazine. Yes, you can shoot it till it's empty, but I always wanted to be sure after accidentally having it go off in the house and putting a hole in the ceiling! I sold it because I could never get the accuracy where I wanted it, Instead of shooting several rounds into one ragged hole, it shot them into 2 ragged holes approximately 1" apart. The gentleman you got it from me was able to fix that problem, but he was much better versed in air guns than I am. The whole experience with that air rifle turned me off from Evanix. When I contacted the owner of Evanix about the issues I was having with the magazines I was told he would sell me some new model magazines that would fix the problem with mis-feeds and jams! I felt they should have been replaced under warranty at no cost, since I felt it was a manufacturing defect. Apparently they didn't feel the same way! I eventually got them replaced through the Vendor I purchased the Air Speed from, but only because they ate the cost of the magazine to take care of me as their customer! At that point, the damage was done, the attitude I received and the way it was handled by Evanix convinced me I'd never spend another dollar on an Evanix product. Hopefully, that was an isolated incident and yours is great air rifle! That is an excellent price, so even if it has minor issues, they will be easier to live with being you only spent $525 instead of over a $1000!

Thanks guys.Hey FLgunner, I feel your pain on customer service issues. I had a few of those. I generally buy from companies like air force and crosman because I have had good experiences with them. In fact air force sent me parts that I lost. I told them I lost them and the lady said wow you actually are being honest. Heres the replacement. Another time I bought a used gun that had the safety removed by the previous owner and again they sent another one. Anyway this is my first evinex ever and since it's used I was expecting to have to fix it myself but I am relatively sure it's in good working order. I trust the guy selling it because he has good feedback and has been awesome to deal with but I'll definitely let you guys know how it goes. He says it loves jsb 18.1g and since it's gen 2 I am fairly certain that the jamming issues were resolved. Like I said hunting accuracy is all I'm looking for so as long as I can kill a squirrel or rabbit at 40 yards I will be happy. I won't be tuning this gun down but I will shoot the crosman premiers in my backyard at 10yards. It should be fine at the full power but thanks for letting me know 6600. Maybe in time I might consider it but I bought it for a medium power hunting rig. My cat has raccoon problems and I may replace the air force condor with this gun if it's running reliably.

Mine was one of the very first Air Speeds sold, I jumped too soon and should have waited. Hopefully, all the issues have been resolved and you get a great air gun! I've always like the looks of the Rainstorm, but after my experience, I doubt I'll ever get one. Fortunate for me, I don't like the looks of any of their current offerings, so nothing there to tempt me to change my mind! LOL! I'm looking forward to hearing how this one performs for you! Like you I like the Crosman and have received excellent service from them. I have also had excellent service from FX, so, aside from 1 or 2 oddballs, all my current air guns are either Crosman or FX! I'll stick with the reliable brands with proven customer service!

I killed a fair good sized Pig with my Air Speed tuned down to 26 FPE ...........been regretting selling that gun since the day after I shipped it.

So it came today. I shot around 60 shots of crosman premier domes and they all cycled flawlessly. I only had the ten yards in my back yard but the crosman pellets were grouping at the most a half inch. I suspect if I slowed down and shot careful those groups would improve. I also suspect that heavier pellets will yield better results. I'm just really happy with it. I'm going to totally hunt with this bad boy! I'm really hoping for 1/2 in groups at 40 yards and I feel like that's a possibility. I'll get it over a Chrono tomorrow or sometime soon. It might be too hot tomorrow. Well I will post more content later on a new thread but I am just thrilled with this gun. So much fun. I feel like I'm 12 again! I love that after 32 years airguns can still make me feel like this. 🤠

I have a g2 .22 on the way too.

I just got into this game having been extremely fascinated with it about 4 years ago. I'm into everything else hunting , fishing powder burners.Matter fact 4 years ago I decided that it was gonna be way too much effort and $ to get into pcp business so I bought another rifle ( 2 really 455 and 457 CZ).

Well I decided I would get a high end break barrel after some thought and bouncing between hw97 and tx200 I ended up with a TX beech hc.

4 years ago I wanted a rain storm Evanix but as I mentioned I talked myself out of it.

2 days ago I recieved a compressor .

A Week before I recieved a Seneaca Eagle Claw .25 (Korean so close a Rain storm I guess) couldn't find a Rain storm. I have also recieved from a member here an Air Arms S510 .25 and I always wanted a BSA so got a Scorpion SE tactical in route along with the AIR Spee grn 2 .22.

Not bragging been very poor and had to sell stuff to get by but have really been blessed in my career the past 13 years and have over compensated for not much growing up and as a younger adult.

However I'm am excited to get into the hobby once work settles down.

I havev several Japanese SIghtrons and Busnell scopes ove accumulated over time and now I'm getting some spots for them..and I finally got an Evanix.

Thanks for the post and I hope to see more folks commenting.
