I decided that 14.75” was the perfect length for my Dreamline. FX offerings are too long or too short. Knew I didn’t want to cut the choke off so I gambled. I cut the smooth off and went to work on the leade. I focused on getting the pellet to chamber exactly like it did before. Without going into detail, lots of lathe time and valve lapping compound. Had to shorten everything else. Ironically FX uses 1/2 threads on the liner tube tension nut. Metric everywhere else. Does it shoot?

I figured I needed around a 375mm liner to hit 880fps with 18.1gr pellets without having to lean super hard on the gun. Just came upstairs from the chronograph. Was at 881fps. Talk about lucky. Now I have to finish the shroud. I have an idea that might eliminate the need to hang a can on such a nice little gun. If successful, I will post the results. If this topic dies, you know I failed. The gun is a Dreamtac Compact.

You always have to allow for the Walmart Crosman fliers. Now here are two groups with the Dreamline at 35yrds with Wally 14.3 cheap pellets. When this Wuhan madness lets up, we will be headed to my sisters in Va for our spring airgun fest. I prayed my Compact would shoot some cheap lead. Group on the right is not going to cut it. Turned the wheel from 25/30 to 177/22. Shot the group on the left. Love it! Will test at 50yrds tomorrow.

Nice, we cut the liners down as short as 200mm (8") using the rear end without choke and in some instances they actually shoot better even in 12FPE.

I had to make my own DreamTac Compact as they still aren't widely availible here, this is a 300mm liner set-up with cylinder shortened to suit.
