Tuning Ever See a Butchered Wildcat? (Graphic)

Guess I'm to blame for not spotting messed up Allen bolt heads, but, in my defense, FX-Sweden and my Dealer also missed them. Think it's a small clue to catch, especially for what you believe to be a factory-fresh rifle. The last thing I suspected, as the reason for my accuracy problem, was that someone else had access to the gun between the time of manufacture and my ownership, other than my trusted Dealer.

This is the only .30 ammo I had from 4/14/21 to 11/16/21, because of pellet shortage. This is why finding this problem took 7 months. WM

My guess is that it was a demo gun or had been returned by a customer at some point and resold. I can't believe it left the factory like that. And 7 months is kind of a long time if you put yourself into the dealer's (or FX's) shoes. Sorry for your troubles, but I'm sure FX-USA will make it right!

Old-School,

If FX had come to me and said, "We know you want a new .30 Wildcat MKIII, but all we have is one just returned from a promotional loan." I'd say, "Fine, how much?" If they replied, "Full price," I'd say, "No thanks, I'll wait for one fresh from the factory." I've purchased floor models, display items and even returned items before, but usually at a pretty hefty discount and I know I'm taking a risk. Demo guns, promotional loan guns and display guns could still be considered "new," that is, never having serial number registered to an owner, but I think consumers should be so informed when purchasing one, and offered a discount, not just sold one, at full price, identified only as "new inventory."

I shared this whole painful saga to warn others of this pitfall and hope each new gun purchaser makes sure that all are aware of what constitutes a "new" gun to them.
