ever hear of a HPDMC 60s 4500 psi compressor

hi , i am currently looking into a budget 4500 psi compressor to fill my gun tanks but also have the ability to fill my 90 cubic inch 4500 psi carbon fiber tank from like 3000 psi to 4500 psi. there is a HPDMC 60s 4500 psi compressor that i am looking at for around 600.00 . does anyone have any knowledge about this type of compressor such as reliability and being able to do what i want. or is there a compressor out there you would recommend ? it would be nice to have one that could work off a pick up trucks battery ? either way would be fine with me as long as it works great and lasts .i was looking also at the GX CS3 , AND xisco compressors

Nope, but look into Yong Heng compressors. They’re close to half the price and there’s plenty of AGN members who’ve been using them long enough to give you just about all the advice you’ll need to keep it going or improve upon your compressor. Do an AGN search for “Yong Heng” or “Yong Heng Compressor” and you’ll se what I mean.

i did own a yong heng until this past week . i started to get blow back out of the breather tube and the compressor now does not start . i had it for 4 years using it lightly over the years . i agree for the money you can not beat it . i just want to get away from the whole set up of getting cold water and using the small water pump and water lines.i would like something that is quicker to use and to be able to fill my buddy tank from 3000 psi to 4500 psi .

Many of the China sourced 2-stage HPA compressors seem to be based on the same compressor & motor combination, and have widely varying prices based on where you purchase it, how much a certain 'maker' wants to charge for it, the extent of its control system (like fully manual, or various different auto shut-off & auto drain features), built in or external cooling system, etc. The HPDMC compressor you mention has the same base motor/compressor as, for example, the various Tuxing TXEDXXXX models.

My personal experience with these compressors is that they can be very hit-or-miss. Consistent quality is not part of the formula at your stated price point. Longevity may be there (if you get a good one up front), but you also have to be willing to work on your own system not only for routine maintenance but potential re-build/repair. And sometimes you will have to go in pretty deep.

I have 5 such compressors which use the HPDAVV/Tuxing dual-stage compressor/motor unit, and which have a very manual shut-off system (I have to personally monitor them, and push the off button when appropriate). They all ended up being part of (I think) a bankruptcy purchase which were then sold on eBay by someone who really didn't understand HPA compressors. In the end they were all in such poor shape when I received them that the seller just refunded my money and said 'keep them'. Up to this point, with no little effort on my part, 4 out of the 5 have been brought back to life and I have been using one of them daily for months to fill guns and bottles. They can be frustrating to get running properly, but once they do they seem (in my short experience with them) to keep going. And now I know a LOT more about maintaining and repairing these units.

I have no personal experience with the Yong Heng compressors, but as noted above they seem to be in widespread use by the AGN community. One other bit of wisdom which normally goes along with a Yong Heng recommendation is to only purchase one from a seller who also offers an extended warranty, and definitely purchase one in the 3- or 4-year range.

I don’t blame you.

I bought this DAVV in May and gave it a glowing review:

Since January 9th until Today I've been dealing with 2 issues with the factory in China. One thing that really aggravates me is their ad shows locations in the U.S. - I don't know if they esxist because all my dialog has been with China and the 3 parts they sent me all came from China which usually takes at least 2 weeks from mailing to receive. First part they sent didn't fit and it took almost 2 months to get a replacement. They don't seem to have a dedicated support structure as the parts had to come from the manufacturing line. Well the 3 parts do solve a problem - wouldn't build pressure at all - replaced the digital gauge, and a significant leak in the high pressure line to the tower. Both fixed but will only build pressure to about 2100 psi. I've asked what's next? We'll see. Probably have to rebuild the high pressures side. I originally asked for them to fix, replace, or refund, and they said no, these were maintenance issues and my responsibility. Not much of a warranty. I have a total of 11 hours of use on it.

In one of the other topics on this forum a member said he wouldn't buy a Chinese compressor unless they had support and parts in the U.S. - Now I couldn't agree with him more.

Yes, it appears that there is a U.S. presence, but these guys make a lot of compressors and I would bet that their U.S. operations are centered around the big dollar commercial rigs they produce and sell. Our little HPA compressors are just, as a Canadian friend used to say, mouse nuts to them.

I noted in another thread that AGN member bthurman has a shop in Texas and is beginning to carry Tuxing compressors and parts at his shop. Many of the parts (including those to rebuild the second stage/high pressure side) should be identical to your DAVV branded compressor (even though the heads on the Tuxing are silver and yours are black). And since the manufacturer is telling you that you are on your own...

Here is a link to the other thread. Most of the info on the new shop is on page 4 of the thread:

https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/tuxing-4500psi-pcp-air-compressor/

And to his shop:

Maybe he will be able to provide what you need for repairing your compressor, in a more timely manner?

HPDMC is the maker of Davv. No customer support pretty much says it all.

Here is where it stands now.

Thurman ordered 4 of the new Coltri compressors and they arrived in short order. Unfortunately the shipment was damaged. He refused due to the shipping damage. Good on him, as he did not want to sell defective or damaged compressors to the Air Gun Community.

Lets hope this works out well for all of us.

Thank you for this update, and all of the wisdom you so freely impart to us here on AGN.

That is a real shame, but unfortunately based on history, one is not able to use 'honor' and 'China' in the same sentence. I have generally gotten to the point where when I buy Chinese, I just assume that I'm on my own.

Perhaps if not too far out of the O.P.'s price range he can look at a Hill EC-3000, and support a U.K. firm instead. Plus they have great support in the U.S. through PyramydAir. The unit I got was not a good one, but I'm hoping that it was just a one-off, and I got unlucky.
