Eurasion connection

This pair came in to the feeder but never left! My .177 Huma reg'd Marmaot Militia barrel'd Maurader pulled it off.

Going to give it a try, was told they are fine eating? Very cautious birds in this area as well, feel fortunate when i connect!

We wrap ours in bacon and then smoke them on a pellet smoker and they come out awesome. They are well fed around here and with all the corn they steal, they are nice and tender. I like to wrap a slice of pineapple with it to keep it moist. Jase Robertson from Duck Commander called mourning doves the “fillet mignon” of the sky. Eurasions are not quite that good but still tasty nonetheless. Take it to ‘em!

Can anyone tell me the story with these Asian doves. I live in SD and they are in town ALL winter making their weird noise. The mourning doves migrate in winter but these things just hang around and live in the evergreen trees next door. I know you need a federal stamp as well as a state stamp to hunt mourning doves but what about these trespassers? Are they considered an invasive species? Seem to be bigger in size than migrating doves too. I watch falcons and hawks take these once in a while too. They do not seem to be very smart. Must be a flock of 10 to 15 in the tree next door. I don’t think I can shoot them in town although it would be very easy. They need to be eradicated IMO. I do not see many migrating doves here anymore.
