Entry level price, 100 yards slug shooting Airgun.

The Nova Liberty is hands down the best valve at $300 but it's not without small issues. Out of the box with an easy adjustment of the regulator and some shims on the hammer spring tension this gun is accurate and powerful. About 38 fpe. Drill the barrel and transfer port a bit bigger and I'm getting 50fpe.

But the poppet material is a bit too soft and could leak. 2 of my 3 guns leaked at the poppet. Not a big deal but that's really the only problem as I see it.

It has a high shot count even at high power. The wood stock is good but the plastic one not so much. The gun is pretty light.

Ok so how do you fix the poppet and with what and is there a list of O-Rings for the gun thanks

You can either call ATI to have it replaced. You could call Troy Hammer at Annihilator Airguns or other tuners to have one made. You should not run into this poppet leak issue if you keep the regulator at a reasonable level. Many people on GTA are telling me that they have had their gun for 6 months with no leak issue whatsoever.

I received an order of the 24g slugs today. It is looking very promising to turn one of my Liberty's into a slug shooter. :)

I quickly burned through 30 of them, finishing off the air in the Liberty. They look and measure very consistent. Fit the gauntlet mag with just a little room left. They feed better than the 21g BM. At my current tune, the Liberty is only lobbing them at 730fps. They were shooting one hole at 10yds, with one flyer out of the 1st 10 shot mag. At 50 yds I consistently hit my 1.5" metal target.

Time to up the power and get close to Stephen's 920fps to reach out to 100yds. Need to clean some foliage out of my 100yd range, too. Looking very good for my 1st time entering the slug gun game. :)

FYI: Just ordered 4 more packs. :)

Matt,

It seemed that Stephan had the best luck with 24.2g, so went for those. He put in the time and effort, so figured if one was going to work in my Liberty, it would be that one. I was actually more worried about how tight of fit it would be, but they are smooth loading in mine.

My gun is sitting at the factory reg setting, and hence only 730fps at the muzzle. Time to ramp that up, before reaching out to 100yds. I will be headed out on vacation, so will be about 2 weeks before more testing. :(

Fuzzygrub, I'm glad they seem to be working. I think the tightest group was on my second day of testing with the 23 grain. I was suppose d to get out tomorrow to more testing but work got me tied down. I will continue to test these to see if I can achieve tighter groups.

Matt, I too am curious to see how other liberties like my slugs. My hope is that everyone does well with these. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I can not definitively say yes it will shoot these slugs well but yes even my 26.1 grain slugs are shorter than H&N Barracuda Match 21 grain pellets. Plus these are .217

If your gun shoots the H&N 21 grain well then I will take a guess to say it MIGHT shoot these well. I know there are a few people testing these slugs in different guns. As soon as I have conclusive evidence I will let you know.
