I need to empty a tank on my RAW and change the valve to a different tank. Is there another way besides dry firing it empty?

Simply unscrew it. It is wise to have replacement oring on hand, for the cost it's nice to change then everytime anyway.

I found this which is explaining how to empty the bottle on a Theoben Rapid and should apply to the RAW as well:
First, remove the buddy bottle from the rifle. Now remove the buddy bottle o-ring and refit the bottle to the rifle. Without the o-ring the air will leak out through the threads as the pin on the regulator pushes open the valve on the buddy bottle. Once it is completely empty, remove the bottle.

I've heard you just slowly unscrew the pressure gauge until air starts to leak out. Wait until it empties and then retighten the gauge.
