Just bought this pump, instruction manual sucks! Anyone know where I can get better assembly and operating instructions?

its easy to use.
Put oil in it and put the long vented cap on in place of shipping cap
hook up water pump and bucket of water
install air hose and put in filter use Teflon tape
screw in both bleed valves one on each side of compressor
turn it on and open bleed valve when you ready to turn it off.
I would put little oil water cotton filter on end of air line it’s not showing one ,they sell on eBay $15 or you can get a good bigger one.

The pump in the photo is not a Yong Heng but was probably made in the same factory. Does it have any branding on it at all? There is plenty of tips on how to assemble and operate on Utube if you are uncomfortable with using the thing without destructions. It's not rocket science.

Yea you need to put that back so you know your temperature of the compressor if that’s what you talking about.
A lot of people talk about adding ice or changing the water in the bucket. I don’t use the pump or a bucket. I’m sure there is a lot of ways to similar that you could do but I use mine in the utilitiy room so here is what I did. I put a garden hose splitter on my cold water for my washer machine put a little pointy hose sprayer on it and connect my hose to it than I put the drain hose where the washer drains the washer hose holds it in there firmly than I adjust the water flow. I’m sure there is other ways to do it that might be more convenient in your situation. My splitter was already on my faucet so all I had to do was walk outside and get the little sprayer thing off my hose and I was pumping up my tank.

That’s normal temperatures. It can’t make a change in your tempature. When it’s disconnected your temperature gauge isn’t working so how are you reading your temperature? It might go up a little when it’s disconnected room being close to the compressors heat but it’s not a true reading unless it’s in the head. So the compressor is heating up the same but you are just not aware of it.

One very important tip. Do not attempt to start the unit whilst it is pressurized. The back pressure will stall the pump and eventually kill the motor. Always start with the bleed screw open and close it when the pump is spinning. The model that is in your photo is by the look of its features, is a Jufeng type. I have heard that Jufeng is the manufacturer that makes Yong Heng, Tuxing,Davv, and a few other brands. As for one or the other being better made, is not true. It's just a lottery like with a lot of Chinese goods, with if you get a good one or a bad one. I am sure that a lot of problems that have been experienced by users of these things, has been caused by ignorance, more than by dodgy product. It would be certainly worth their wild to supply a decent English speaking engineer to write proper owners manual for the things.
