Effect of wind on accuracy / groups?

Crosswind drastically effects the group. Increasing the velocity will help.

@ 42 yards shooting at 870FPS you could get anywhere up to 4 inches with winds up too 25 mph 18 grain pellets more than an inch. But that is a lot of constant wind at 90 degrees off of your shooting line.

no wind at 42, probably about 5/8" centers all the time and 3/8"occasional.

on second thought, please ad 1/8" to the groups above!

and on 3 rd thought, i had just left a fx thread and carried it over to this one. What PCP are you shooting?

If you're shooting groups you should watch your flags and identify the average condition and only shoot when you get it. Dont pull the trigger in a gust or lull. Your gun is capable of shooting the same size groups whether its calm or windy if you do your part.

True and that's because the projectile hasn't fully settled in and become completely stabilized.
