Edgun R5M Standard .25 inbound. *It's Here!

The desire to shoot 34 faster than 850 are purely for pesting at ranges up to 50 yards. Superior ballistic coefficient and muzzle energy of the MK2 equals much more FPE downrange. 1 inch groups at 50 yards will be adequate half-inch would be more than good enough. I tried some grizzly pellets up to 910 feet per second but those all grouped poorly at over an inch at 32 yards. My home range is only 50 yards maximum. For target practice I intend to use the king's for more shots and lower noise signature but for pesting I would like to have more FPE has a safety margin and more latitude as for shot placement allowing for lung shots on smaller Critters.

What height rings do you guys recommend for the R5M Standard/Lelya? I have this LaRue Tactical quick detach scope mount from one of my old AR15's laying around. I'm just wondering if it's too high. Centerline is 1.5 inches from the top of the rail.

I just recieved my R5M Standard .25cal from Brian at Edgun West and so far, it's pretty awesome! Have you ever had to chase the mailman? Well I did. I have no shame lol. The USPS mailman left the pink slip in my mailbox to pick up my package at the Post Office because I needed to sign for it.

This is not the time of the month to be lining up at the Post Office. I was waiting all day for the mailman and checking my car port. When I saw the pink slip in my mailbox, I drove down the end of my block and saw him down the next street and pulled up behind him lol.

In a prior conversation with Brian, he told me that from his past experience, shipping to Guam was pretty fast. He wasn't joking. I placed the order on Saturday the 15th and just received it today. Prior to placing the order, I called Brian asking him about the quality of the walnut stocks.

In the past while doing my research, I noticed that the Edgun walnut stocks looked kind of bland to me. He told me that the recent batch of R5M's he received all had nice patterned wood grain walnut stocks and it didn't matter which one he packed up to ship to me. The stock looks amazing and even better in person.

Still need to mount my scope but that's gonna take a little time. I have to work tonight so I don't have much time. I only had enough time to shoot one string through the chrony to see what the factory settings were at. I'll do a separate review after everything's settled in. Anyways, here's some pics...

Oh mama that's spectacular, beautiful choice Peska. The rats will rue the day they met the 2018 Rat King, its basically locked down by you brother way to go. Wait till you sling some heavies you're going to love it even more I bet. Congrats!

Thanks Glem. This Edgun .25 is too much of a power house to shoot the rats in my garage area at home. When I ran it through the chrony, I was using an old couch behind my house as a backstop and it went through the upholstery and particleboard multiple times. Death to the rats will still be met by my Brocock Contour .22 which pushes about 19-20 FPE.

Wow, I was about to pull the trigger on a FX Wildcat MKII compact "Warcat Edition" with some accessories in cart, equaling up to $2,0×× you guys definitely got me considering one of these! R5M Long .25, only 2" longer then the cat, more shots, more power!

What's a guy to do?

Get all of them. 👍🏼

The next airgun on my list is a Taipan Veteran (Unknown caliber and length yet) and a Vulcan 2 in .30cal. The Edgun Lelya is also on my list. I like variety.
