Edgun R5M Standard .22

Think I can now be called an Edgun fan lol. Recently getting the R5 I just realized how much I really enjoy Eds guns. Top knotch build quality and rugged, powerful, accurate guns. Also very easy to work on if needed thanks to Ed himself doing tear down videos and Brian at Edgun West also. Also wanted to have 2 guns that shared quite a few same parts. In comes the R5M Standard .22. This gun is a beautiful gun and just a very good shooter.

Gun came with reg at 125bar. Fps maxed at 1000fps so decided needed to drop reg pressure. Dropped it to 110bar and now maxed at 940fps and tuned to 900fps with the 18gr JSBs. It's shooting hole in hole at 50yds. I'm not sure what I want to do yet if down tune alittle more or not to the 860fps range for more shots or I want to try NSA 17.5gr slugs in it and see how they do first. Would like a tune that both will shoot good at so I can use slugs for windy days. Compared to my long R5M .22 I had before I really like the feel of this gun for an everyday shooter and carry around gun. Balance is awesome.

It's paired with an Arken 4-14x44 SH-4 scope. I honestly think I found my new favorite scope. Really like the reticle and just everything about the scope works perfectly. Tracking is awesome and the side focus is very nice. If I ever need another scope I will be picking up another one of these for sure.

Nice... EDgun .22 barrels really like the NSA 20.2 grain HP DB slugs. And at $18.95 for 375, almost as cheap as the JSB 18.1. BC for those slugs is twice that of the pellets, and in my R3 they are just as accurate as the RD Monsters... Been wanting to check out an Arken scope, I saw them and talked to the owners of the company when I was at SHOT Show in January...

Yeah Mike I have the 17.5gr, 20.2gr and 23gr to try. I did try some 17.5gr at 50yds unsized and sized to .215 as the unsized were very tough to seat and the .215 weren't much easier. The 20.2gr might be much harder to seat. Do have a .214 sizer to try first though. But yeah I'm very happy with the Arken. Especially for the $350. I believe I saw you were interested previously in the 34mm 6-24x50. I would assume they would be great but between that or the Midas Tac 6-24x50 I had for the same money I think it'd be hard to choose.

@slcrcflyer yeah this is a great gun! I watched your review on yours also. I'm quite happy with my Edguns.

Balance on the STD is pretty special. For me the balance on the Lelya 2.0 is even better🤔 My current project is a .177 and I am loving it. 85 BAR, 880 fps, 18 FtLb... it’s a great barn burner😊 Looking fwd to the Hades to attempt a lower power tune.

You have a great gun👍🏻
