Edgun R5M owners

The R5M Long is very close to the length of the R3M STD. It is not a long bullpup. I own both of these and have the R3M set up for the 25.4s and the R5M Long set for the 34s. They are both tack drivers at 48 and 59 FtLb respectively. The R5M is more quiet... even at the power differential. It has a very large stripper vent/moderator. I really like them both but there is no doubt the R5M is a step up.

If I hunted from a car I would opt for the R5M STD or even the Lelya 2. For bench or shooting from sticks or a bipod I opt for the R5M Long. It is really quite amazing.

Last weekend I struck a 2”spinner 49/50 consecutive shots at 115 yards on one fill at 59 FtLb. outside in the normal conditions. I have carded .78” 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I shoot off a bipod from an iron patio table. The R3M is good for .9” groups on the same range. I promise you that you will want to shoot the 34s if you get out in all conditions.

I think a person would be happy with either. From a guy that has a couple... the R5M Long is pretty ideal.

Edited to share that my R3M STD is shooting right at 920 with the 25.4s and my R5M Long is at 885 with the 34s.

As Jwilson said, the R5M long is shorter than the R3M long and close to the R3M standard in length.

Here's a pic of my R5M long next to my R3M long. The R5M long is 3.5" shorter than the R3M long.

If you're going to shoot 34s, I'd want the long just for the added reservoir capacity and longer barrel. I have not shot or tuned an R5M standard, but my guess is that an R5M standard running 60 ft/lb with the 34s may get around 30-35 shots per fill; there's less reservoir capacity and with the shorter barrel regulator pressure will have to be higher than a long model to achieve the same energy.
