Edgun R3M or Bobcat MK2 ?

In .22 or .25

I haven't checked myself, but it has been said the Edguns are now selling for $1350, if the Edgun was still $1900 the FX would be the hands down winner. I have owned an Edgun R3 and really liked it, the handling & accuracy, if not for a cosmetic crack in the stock that irritated me I would probably still have it. A plus for the Edgun ( in my eyes ) is I have a .177cal Lelya on order and it would be nice to have the pair. My only concern is that it "seems" that with the Edguns, if you have a problem with your brand new you are pretty much on your own to fix it.

I have owned FX rifles with the power adjuster and find that very useful, and even though you are limited to JSB pellets, I like the ST barrel over the LW.

Assuming the Edgun price drop is true, is the Bobcat MK2 worth the $350-$400 over the Edgun?

ETA: I did not include the Cricket as I do not like the bulldog stock or how restrictive the fill port is.

I have to agree. But you will have to wait for it according to Tony. There sold out till June. That's the email I got back from him when I asked about price and inventory." You have to pay for it now to get it later at that price " this was from Ed. When I asked about this new lower price. Its very tempting. I can tell you if he had a .30 cal for that in the R3M LONG. It would be a no brainer. I'd buy it today. Best guys, Steve

I cannot understand the fascination with the Edgun. The rear location of the bolt on a bullpup seems to me to provide very awkward function. In my eye the Colibri, Vulcan and even the Cricket have better functionality with their side lever and straight pull actions. The recently announced Wildcat appears to provide improved functionality over these models with it's improved forward location of the side lever. What am I missing ?

I own a Vulcan and the EDgun. The location of the bolt is not really that big of a deal. I buy these guns to shoot precision not lay down cover fire. Sure the side bolt is new and cool but the quality and accuracy of the EDgun is unparalleled. The gun is Russian stout and super simple. The other thing is there is a shroud cover that you can buy aftermarket that has a 1/2 UNF thread on it. This makes the gun have the ability to add a LDC. Putting a good quality LDC on the EDgun will make it whisper quiet.

Edgun Matador R3M 22. Medium size Purchased NEW for 1,450.00 $$.

I have been doing as much reading and research as I could for the past couple of years. I have been wanting to get a 22. PCP but I am pretty picky on accuracy and quality. The only experience I have, is with a friends FX Whisper in 22. It was really accurate. Since then I have been looking into getting a 22. I decided on a marauder in 22. , But then I put everything together and I was in it for 11-1200 $. Then I figured for an extra 1000 $, I could get one of the best. Then the bullpups came into the picture. There's some great guns out there. I guess if you just get a marauder and not think about it, the fun would have started a lot sooner. Live n learn. Can't wait for everything to arrive.

I've never owned an Edgun (and probably never will) and I'm sure the accuracy is superb. That being said the accuracy of the Kalibrgun and FX isn't too shabby either...LOL

I've owned several of the Kalibrguns and FX airguns and their accuracy is outstanding. Kalibrgun, Edgun, FX...flip a coin... Edgun is starting to develope a cult following...it's kinda like the 'Apple' computer of the air gun world...LOL Pricing pressure on bullpups will probably slow the Edgun sales in the west.

As far as the mid-gun cocking knob is concerned, what can I say, except I like it! Concerning bullpups, I think it's the platform of the future. It's just too handy (and natural) to ignore.

Ok, ok, just some of my thoughts.

I owned both. Just recently sold the Edgun R3M in .22 actually. If I actually got to go hunting, then i'd pick the Edgun hands down over my Bobcat MK2. Only because the BC is pita to carry around. I chose to keep the Bobcat because I shoot mostly in my back yard and like the lower power modes. Accuracy wise, it was pretty hard to tell the difference. The craftsmanship and build quality of the Edgun was very solid. I will probably buy another bullpup in .22 soon. But holding holding out for something with a power adjuster
