edgun r3m .25

Look what came in this past Friday.

I just got back from a short vacation today so as you can imagine, I was ready to come back home the day I left.

I found it odd the gun said it was a .22, so I quickly got the magazine and check if a .25 pellet would fit. It did fit.

I looked over the gun and noticed the gun was covered in red dirt. Its a shame the previous owner would send a nice gun like this out. Will have to give this gun a good cleaning before I test it out.

Looks like a bundle of FUN!
Somebody who knows the history of Edgun can probably speak to this better than I, but as I remember hearing the story, Ed did this on purpose. They marked the gun .22 cal but the gun was really .25 cal. The reason if memory serves was that they were to get them thru customs? Seems the .22 was acceptable but the .25 was going to prove to be some kink of logistics nightmare? I am thinking that there was some Russian law that they were trying to skirt by and this was how they did it. Anyone else know the facts on this?

Congrats! My R3M .25 is also labeled as a .22 cal. If I recall this was done for import reasons since a .25 would attract unnecessary attention back then. It's an afterthought now since many manufacturers are importing/exporting .25/.30 on the regular. It's hard to mistaken a .25 cal magazine to a .22 one. In my opinion a .25 cal pellet is huge compared to a .22 cal pellet. The larger pellets are much easier and quicker to load so that's a big plus.
