EDgun Pesting with Slugs

I use my EDguns R3 and R3M .22 & .25 for farmyard and backyard pesting. Both shoot JSBs in the 930 FPS range very accurately. The vast majority of my shots are 75 yds and under. Occasionally I get shots in the 100-125 yd range. I don’t want to make any changes to my current setup. Does it make sense to start playing around with slugs to use only for those long range shots? If so any suggestions on what slugs might work? I fired a few Nielsen’s through my .22 and noticed that speeds dropped to the 730 range.

Thanks.

Slugs have way more drag in the barrel than pellets. To shoot them you will have to tune for them. Slugs require significantly more energy. I am pretty sure you will need a plenum and about 135-140 BAR on the reg.

I have not yet attempted a dedicated tune on my R5M Long with slugs but plan to when I get my new compressor. Tuning and hand pumping are rough on an old guy😢
