Edgun pellets?

Anyone have any experience with Edgun pellets? I received a few tins.

Yes they are very consistent. They use a different die for them.

Elis,

a different die — I'd love to see an official statement somewhere about that....

(A) Are we talking "different die" as in "a die that has consciously been designed differently (shape) than a JSB pellet"?

or...

(B) Or are we talking about a rebranded JSB pellet — where JSB made a bunch of dies according to the same design, each of them "different" of course since no two dies are perfectly the same. Then JSB sold one of those dies to AirArms, one to FX, one to Daystate, one to Weihrauch, one to Diana — and one to EDgun.

Now each of these big dollar brands can claim "we have our very own dies" and "our dies are different". Yet the design is the same....

I always wondered about that — option (A) or (B).... 🤔

The "Rangemaster" pellets are ostensibly made by JSB, or with JSB dies (I forget which is claimed) BUT, they *are* different. The design is the same (near as I can tell) but the striations in the lead are different. The JSB-branded pellets have striations running length-wise from the waist to the edge of the skirt, the Rangemaster have less-pronounced rings as if from being turned (or the pockets of the die being turned). There are some other apparent quality differences as well - the Rangemaster have a cleaner looking skirt, but the JSB have a cleaner looking head. The JSB shoot slightly better in my guns.

Only one data point, so not a complete answer, and I have no EdGun pellets to compare, but there are definitely differences between dies!
