EdGun Matador Standard Just Arrived

The first thing I did was put it to my shoulder. Wow!! It felt like it was molded to fit my shoulder. Looking farther into the box, there was no manual. However there was what looked like a gift card enclosed but all the writing on it was in Russian. I have no idea what it was. I looked on line for a manual and all I could find was a manual for the version before that was a single shot. I wanted to turn on the gauge that reads the internal pressure but couldn't find out how to turn it on. On line it says it comes with an Oring kit. If it only needs the the 7 or so that came with it, then it's pretty simple inside I would think.

I know Brian would answer if I called now but I can wait until business on Monday to ask the questions I need answered before I can shoot it. If anyone here has some insight I might get a shot off before Monday. Thanks!

Ok, I have two R5's, an R5 .30 and the R5M .25. Each of the guns are imprinted with a QR Code, which looks like a white square on the gun near the magazine or on the "gift" card included with the gun. You get yourself a QR Code app for free on the app store, iPhone or Android, scan the square "barcode" and it'll take you to the gun manual online. Ed stopped including a paper manual with the R5's.

Brian at EdgunWest has a link for various manuals.

The gauge on the gun is turned on by pushing down near the 5 o'clock mark (you'll feel a click) to see the pressure in the gun.

The link above also has a manual for the Edgun digital pressure gauge so you can read up on how to use it as well.

Have fun!

Great reply. YES ED started using QR codes so you could get a manual for the exact version of your rifle.

Thanks for the info. I have never used that app before and did so. Frustrating!! After I loaded the app and went to wherever that scan took me and before I could get the PDF manual or the info on the gauge I had to sign in via Facebook or google and then they wanted me to sign in again to something with a new password and all. I don't do Facebook. Tried the google thing but when I asked to download or save whatever I was going to see it reverted to sign in again.

Instead of that silly VR code I wish that after purchasing a rifle near $2K there would be a URL provided that would lead one directly to the manual and a download could be done. I agree Brian is solid distributor. However, during a conversation with him on the phone I asked for him to include 3 extra magazines with the shipment. He said he would invoice me and include them. That didn't happen. I do have to add that I called an inquired about the rifle during non office hours and he answered the call while on the road delivering his son to start college.

The rifle seems fairly straight forward. However that electronic gauge seems to require serious review to make use of all its functions. I had no idea it would do all those things.

A picture, as requested, would not do the rifle justice. It looks like all the others that are everywhere. I wish I could provide the physical 'feel' of the rifle in your hands. That's what would make it worth your effort. I am pretty sure if you feel one you'll get one. It's feels even better than my Wildcat. Now we'll see if I can get it to perform the same or better than the Wildcat.

The button under the lower right of the gauge face can be seen in the EDMS video on EDgunWest website. When changing modes, I find starting from off works, and keep pushing the button fairly quickly until the desired mode comes up. Not having experience with analog air gauges on a PCP, I think the digital gauge is great!

If a person does not close the breech completely and pulls the trigger, the hammer will fall but not set off the pellet. It will still be in the chamber. Press down on the lever that is above the left side safety catch so that the magazine will not advance and press in another pellet. This allows the cocking handle to be pulled completely back and pushed completely forward to fire.

Have Fun
