EdGun Leshiy

Hi all

I am a frequent visitor here and read the posts just about everyday. However I never seem to see any posts about the Leshiy...Occasionally you will see posts for barrels ect.. But you never see anyone selling them (rarely) and you never hear anyone asking about mods, tuning, pellets choice, ect....Is it because the gun is new to the market? Is it strange Little beast.? I know its not the price with all the FX talk that goes on here.. What the mystery behind this gun?

Umm don’t know. I have 2 want a 3rd.They’d been around a while solid, reliable, powerful, and accurate. Purpose built, and for their size the kick out some power. If your run out of air you can use it as a blunt force weapon. There is a vid of Ed picking up 100+ kilos with one. Easy to service. Very hand pump friendly. They tick all my boxes for a gun. Some ppl don’t like single shot or single action. I like single shots and shot enough single action handguns I don’t mind. There is a tone of info on them out there. As far as not being sold I feel that some one buying one has a specific need that only it will accomplish. It would make a good “survival” setup

Honestly after owning many many guns over the years I'd have to say my Leshiy is arguably my favorite gun. It's an amazing little package that can really sling some lead! By far the easiest gun I've owned to shoot off hand but I also only have a red dot on it. Very easy to adjust reg and hammer spring. I also like single shots. Honestly if I would have bought one long ago I probably would have 2 one setup with a 250mm barrel for .177 and .22 and one with a 350mm barrel for either .22 or .25 with an extended reservoir with a compact scope. I do enjoy mine alot. I did do the 2 stage trigger screw mod as it was alittle too light for my liking. Now it's perfect

Awesome platform the hades work very well out of it mine is .25 350mm barrel and still fits in back pack, the hold when shooting I find is firm pulled into shoulder as I shoot off hand at squirrels, 40 yards furthest I have taken squirrel so far and it hits pretty hard. Single shot makes me better as I have no speedy back up shot so I know one shot has to count.

Had a friend many years ago that only hunted with a single shot shotgun … but he mounted a bayonet on the muzzle so he was in great shape. Always had pictures in my mind of him running after a wounded squirrel stabbing in the ground and missing the squirrel over and over again. Well … he finally got the wiley squirrel with a heart / lung slash. He was putting the squirrel in his bag when he saw another critter and quickly loaded his other 12 gage shell … aimed … BLAM!!! The barrel blew up. Must have had 6 inches of mud in the barrel. I laughed till I cried … literally ROTFLMAO

There are a couple of very long and really good Leshiy threads here and on GTA. It is what many call a niche gun, which might make you think it doesn't have much purpose outside of that niche, but I now find it my most favorite gun to shoot. I held off buying one for almost 2 years because everything I was reading about the single stage trigger being meh and all these two stage mods just to make it usable. I eventually pushed through and bought one and my only regret was waiting so long. I love the single stage trigger as it makes me concentrate on the shot and surprises me every time it goes off.

Here's my list of pros for the Leshiy:

  • Easily adjustable power 10fpe to 70+fpe with just a barrel swap and turn of the HS screw.
  • Easiest caliber change of any airgun I know.
  • Shoulders wonderfully - even better if you get the extended airtube from DrozdPCP as it raises the sight up about 1".
  • Enough adjustability to keep you happy, but not enough to screw up the gun.
  • Rear firing hammer and valve so all of the recoil is back against your shoulder.
  • Accessories that just work and make the gun better:
    • Huma Reg - more shots at lower psi.
    • Hume pellet holder - made to fit.
    • DroxdPCP extended airtube - double the air in your tank.
    • DonnyFL 350mm barrel adapter - keeps your Leshiy short with the longer barrel when you don't need a moderator and a 1/2"x20UNF thread to attach any moderator when you do.
    • Steven Brown custom grip - awesome addition. Heads-up though if you have big hands you will like the bigger older style grip over the newer slimmer one.
    • PTS Fortis Shift Short foregrip - one of the few foregrips that fit and still allow the Leshiy to fully fold for cocking. Also gives you a lot of options on how you can hold the front of the gun.

Are there any cons? Well there's the obvious "you don't have one yet". Other than that the 350mm barrel is a little easier to shoot than the 250mm barrel. The 250mm barrel can get pretty twitchy on you if you bump up the power.

edit: wanted to add what Digger said about the grip is true. I find I shoot best when I pull it in somewhat tight to my shoulder with my fore hand and then a very light hold on the grip.

I'll take a wild guess, and say they Leshiy buyers/owners are a bit like the Steyr buyers/owners

- They're more interested in shooting the rifle than tinkering with it.

I've wanted one for some time, but buying a small airgun with a built-in suppressor in a part of the world where this sort of feature is frowned-upon by the police... doesn't make sens

I am going to liken the Leshiy to the Taipan Veteran. When I asked for suggestions for a good PCP I got so many suggestions for the Veteran. I had never heard of it. I could barely find anything on the forums about it. I took a chance and when I received the Veteran I realized why there were so few threads - people are just out there enjoying shooting them. No major complaints and you don't need to muck with it to shoot good.

Same thing with the Leshiy - it's an underdog and very un-assuming. But when you get it in your hands you realize it's a serious tool out of the box. There's nothing in my post above that is "required" to make the Leshiy a good gun. All my additions just make it a better gun that's more enjoyable to shoot.

It's my goto gun with a .30 barrel when I want to get together with friends and have fun blowing up rotten fruit and other stuff. It's my goto gun in .177 or .22 when I just want to plink a few rounds in the basement. I have a Ranchero Carbine that is an even nicer gun to shoot, but the Leshiy is still the goto.

There's something therapeutic about the cocking and single loading as well versus a side-cocking repeater. Gives me time to reflect on the shot I just took, what I was and wasn't focusing on with my form and breathing, and preparation for the next shot.

I just throw in back pack and go, part of what makes it awesome I don’t treat it with kid gloves and I absolutely just want to shoot it no continued adjusting. The trigger I agree one stage surprise just like I learned in USMC boot camp. I clean the barrel every 500 shots give or take wipe my scopes glass off once in awhile that’s it and the new hades 26. Something work very well in accuracy and ethical squirrel take.

I guess it's like what others are saying above. Too many people doing more shooting and less talking with the Leshiy. I find myself reaching for it frequently for general plinking. I have a valley behind my house and there's an open spot about 86 yards away where I take a few shots with my Leshiy and Dedal Stalker combo every now and then to check my zero. I'm still amazed when I hit an object that's about 2 to 3 inches in diameter multiple times from that distance. Another cool thing is that on multiple times, I grab the Leshiy by the milled in moderator and there's no change in POA, POI even when I grab the moderator at an angle holding it horizontally. It's a very robust little gun.
