Thanks for explaining. In watching this video posted by Edgun, can you elaborate as to when you'd use the magnet? I'm not seeing it in this video. It looked like a rather smooth transition to reload. thanks.

I think I still have some from the original Leshiy. I think they were 8mm x 3mm. The magnet on the gun was too weak, and the gun would unfold at the most inopportune time. You can get them at Amazing.com, They don't cost much.

Here's another video of the new black retaining plate for the magazines. In order to load the pellets/slugs, you have to remove the black retaining plate and load head first. The plate then secures against the skirt of the pellets preventing it from backing out. Turn on the English captions if you need to.

The video above shows it very well. The thin backer plate can be hard to grab and overcome the force of the magnet holding it to the magazine . Use the magnet on the bottom of the grip to pull it off.

Ok, that video does look more reassuring. So if you have fat stubby fingers like me, then the magnet might be needed lol. 

On the prototype the magnet was pretty weak. I lost it a couple of times, so this being strong is fine by me.

Congratulations to ED for such a amazing and innovative design. 

It appears we may need to make some custom tools to work on it as well. Maybe Oksana at Valkyrie will come up with something for a clean magnet install.

Not offended at all. Most guns need a little tweaking to make them perfect. Maybe honest discussion offends you. Nothing particular to this brand or gun, many times we need to make some tools,-think Impact.

I agree. I prefer a strong magnet to losing that backplate somewhere in the woods. It will definitely be better than loading a magazine that is fixed to the gun, like the SK19 or Huben K1. I am hoping the back plate will also prevent the pellets from backing out and locking up the action, like it could in those guns as well. The workaround was to push the pellets in a little with a hex key or other object, but it made loading even more tedious.

I’ll come up with some different ideas on how to deal with the magnet issue. After more have a chance to use the gun a while I’m sure there will be lots of ideas. I’m willing to make and sell something like the leather covered magnet on the short video. Just have to figure out a way to carry it or attach to the gun. 

I was thinking something incorporated into a slight grip extension, but I don’t fnow if the grip will he too short for some or not. I won’t know because the grip on the original Leshiy fit me fine.

I remembered that I had seen magnetic barrel rests for Trap/Sheet shotgun shooters. If the magnet is strong enough it might be a way to go.

Make it. Just let the magnet attach to the gun. Anywhere really. Brian made this, and is definitely not going to make them.

Just a thought but I wonder if tabs could have been incorporated into the back plate of the mag. At least one tab or a few. Just long enough for a finger nail to grab on to. I'm not sure if there would have been a clearance issue when the mag rotates. Any thoughts?
