Edgun Lelya 2.0 - My Ongoing Photo Thread (and Some Random Thoughts)

Been using her for another week... really like the off-hand shootability of that new Lelya. However I still need to find & buy an aftermarket bipod/weaver adapter (one that fits into front guard screw socket). There are some guys producing that stuff on CNC. Anyway, together with that Cherry Bomb pack it makes an easy to carry around multishot setup, capable of pellet on pellet accuracy at 35 yards and easily half inch groups at 50.

Hmmm.... and she looks quite handsome too. For a photography junkie like me that is a valid factor, like it or not.

They are definitely an incredible little power house in .22 cal. Still wish I could have gotten a .177 as well as a stock like yours. I love the way it handles. And I’m finding that it is pretty easy to shoot, I’d heard that bull pups were very difficult to get used to. I was consistently hitting a four inch disk at 100 yards last night. So I tried a group on a steel sheet under the disk, the first two shots were touching and I was blown away, but the other eight shots wrecked the chance for a 1 inch group. Best I could do at 100 yards was four inches. Soon I’ll post pictures of groups at 60, 75, and 100 yards. Sounds dumb to hope for small groups at 100 yards with a bull pup, but these things are definitely capable...me not so much!! PiterM, I would be willing to trade straight across for your plain Jane Lelya!! Ha ha ha!

Aren’t these simply amazing little guns! I can’t believe how hard it is to put it down and get back to work. I take brakes from work and shoot my guns and find myself loading yet another magazine... and then even refilling because I’m just not done! I took off the scope and mounted a red dot and have been having a blast shooting off hand at a 35 yard target. Ed must be a shooter because this little gun is just magic, perfect balance and oh so accurate.

Didn’t try my Lelya on anything above 50 so far. For longer distance I shoot at my local 100m shooting range with R5 .30 cal and of course there's no comparison.

The only real drawback if 177 is lack of wind resistance, but since I’ve got two guns in 22 and one in 30... no problem with that :D

Have you tried the NSA 15.5 grn slugs yet? I have a STD in .177 and shoot these at 920 with great results. If the Lelya can get them to 890+ I think you will be impressed. I think you will have to add a plenum if you have not already done that. BC on the slugs is around .071. Wind performance is quite surprising.

Piter,

How do you like shooting the Lelya with the 1-6 power AR15 style optic? I'm very close to picking up a Lelya in .25cal and mounting either a 1-4, 1-6 or 1-8 power optic. Reasons being is that the Lelya is such a short package and looks like it would handle offhand shooting better than my R5M. Although I still like my R5M and have no plans on selling it, I need an even more compact shooter and a low power variable optic to shoot within 35 yards/meters.

BTW, I really like your threads and look forward to your updates and stunning pictures. Keep up the good work.

50 yards with 6x scope - but that C-More 1-6x is stunning crispy little beast made for competitive shooting. Soooo 0.6 - 0.7 inch C-T-C in some 5 shot groups - not bad. Now I need bigger scope and it'll be easily sub-MOA at 50y! Or... really do I? Hmmm, I just love that compact look. So before I move to something bigger (and I will one day, just for test) I'll check also Stalker 6 on her.

Another update... I had to try what it's really capable of. So put Vortex 4-16x44 Diamondback Tactical FFP with scope leveler on my Lelya and to my surprise it's not a bad looking combo. Actualy it's kind of badass little sniping bullpup!

I've been shooting off a sandbag, which is even more stabile than a bipod. And with scope level I was not affraid of canting anyway (which is really crucial for off the sandbag shooting). I was shooting at 25 yards and 50 yards. At 25 it was generally one hole. At 50 yards I could go at or sometimes just below 1/2 of an inch c-t-c so at 50y it's sub-MOA airgun in my book. With selected ammo and perfect no wind conditions of coure. I had mine set at 17 Joule which is a bit above 12 fpe - thanks to that I can shoot on open land, not just range (local law). So with big scope it's a VERY capable airgun. I could speed it up and register but so far I'm not tempted - for long range work my R5 in .30 cal (over 100 Joule!) is waaaay better solution anyway.

Next scope to check is my Stalker 6 of course... stay tuned!
