Pics of the bat moderator so you can see the little bit of added length.

Backyard friendly is different to each person and neighbors. Example my neighbors are crazy morons and when they hear even a .177 airgun going off. They call the cops saying someone is shooting a gun. Cops show up at my house 2 times over a stupid. 177. Cal bb gun saying they get call from neighbors that we are shooting guns. If you have cool neighbors than even a big bore going off is considered backyard friendly. So it's hard to say if your gun is backyard friendly without know what kind of neighbors you have.

Leshiy is quiet with lower tunes. It will bark plenty if you ramp it up to 850 fps. Donny makes an LDC adapter for it, so no worries! The Akula LDC is what looks best on the gun, but good luck getting one.

My R5M is pushing slugs 1000 fps, and with the BAT, perfectly tame. Even without it, it's shootable, but not with uptight liberal gun phobic neighbors. Think you can use Donnys adapter on the R5M too

How quiet are the Edguns? Are they backyard quiet without adding an LDC?

Which Edgun are you referring to? R3, R5, R5M, Lelya, Leshiy? What caliber? What length? Standard, Long, Super Long? Ed said it himself that he tries to design his guns taking length and sound suppression into consideration. I think most manufacturers try to accomplish the same thing but in my opinion, Ed does a pretty good job at it.

He could make them extremely quiet but the overall length might not be desirable to the end user. I have a R5M Standard in .25cal and for the size and FPE that it's putting out, I think it's pretty quiet. The pellet hitting the target is another story. I had a friend shoot it about 5 feet away from me while I was on the side and I was really surprised at how quiet it was.

What I believe had the most effect was shooting it in an open outdoor area. If shooting from or near a solid structure, the sound is amplified. I have a Leshiy in .22cal 250mm barrel setup for 12ft.lbs. and what I hear the most is the sound of the hammer hitting the valve which sounds like a "snap". If I increase the hammer spring tension up to 20 FPE, it sounds more like a "pop".

I've never had neighbors complain about my R5.30.

If I did have "crazy morons" calling the cops for "airgun noise", I'd purchase a pneumatic nail gun and "build things" in the back yard..5 or 6 nails at a time. I think a birdhouse might take 20 or 30 nails. With a visit from the police each time and you explaining it was a nail gun each time, I suspect they'd eventually stop coming..and maybe even ask the neighbors to stop crying wolf. 😉

That would work great as long as your neighbor is an a$$hole, doesn't have direct view and makes a video for the police.

You might buy a concrete nail gun too to cover for powder burners.

P.S. Emperor makes ANYTHiNG mouse fart quiet. Yah its big, yah its 10 inches long, but hey, how valuable IS shooting in your backyard to you??

Have one on my Impact mk2, and it is go to gun shooting from my bedroom window perch. If any of these snowflake liberals around me even SAW it, the swat team would be descending on my property.
