EBR winning .308 Slayer

Hey guys,

Here’s a pic of my .308 Slayer shooting a steel plate at 430 yards. Not a typo. I tried uploading a 2 minute video of it back in October with no luck (screw YouTube) and kinda forgot about it.

Heres a link (click it!) and a pic

Aaawwww. I was hoping it was going to end with you actually shooting the thing. I know I know, I'm a whiner and all that, but I've taken .22LR (subsonic) out to that distance, and I guess I was just hoping to see an airgun do it.

I do have a question though, if I may: how is the shot to shot consistency on that gun? I know they're unregulated, and I couldn't help but notice the tether. At some point I swore off unregulated rifles, because in general they just don't have the velocity consistency across the pressure cycle. Is the Slayer an exception, or do you need a regulated bottle to run it?

@STO,

The shot string is really impressive for a big-bore, best I’ve experienced. In the pic, it’s coupled to the bottle, but not tethered. For shooting 430 yards, I was refilling every 2 shots, so I left it attached. For “normal” every day distances (50-100 yards for me) It stacks 5 shots. Can’t get a full 7 shots under 1” at 100 without compensating with POA. At 50 yards, it’ll dump all 7 rds into one ragged hole. For a big-bore, this is next level stuff! Most guys at EBR were refilling after every shot. I could have probably gotten away with 4 shots per fill at the far target, 240ish yards, but why risk it. Full disclosure, it was my Slayer that won.. I tuned and did all the data set up and proceeded to blow it by shooting the lane 4 targets..from lane 5. What an idiot. Had it sewed up until then. My (much smarter) co-shooter, Stephen Marsh took the win. I’ll be back fully focused this year!

Thanks for the info! If, at some point in the future, I wanted to pick your brain on the subject would you mind a PM? I've wrestled with buying one but keep telling myself to wait and see how the Hammer turns out.

Wouldn’t mind at all. Fire away, I’ll do my best to help with any questions you may have. My favorite subject 👍

Hey guys, it’s been my pleasure to share my experience with the .308. No other rifle in the collection gets my blood pumping like it does!

I posted this pic maybe 3 months ago in the hunting forum, but I think it fits here, and isn’t graphic at all. Killed (2) deer in FL with the Slayer. Also took the first ever legal FL airgun turkey with it. One deer head shot, lights out, a vitals shot with pile up 50 yards away, and the turkey made it all of 3 feet. It’s an aptly named weapon!

An awesome hunt with Travis aka Bullfrog.

Nice. I’ve ordered one and am waiting patiently for it to arrive. We can only use air rifles on small game in the northeast, so I need to find some places to hunt pigs /deer and plan some trips once it arrives.

It’s like being a kid waiting for Christmas Day. What caliber Slayer did you order? I went back to last summer and found these pics to make your wait even harder, haha.
