EBR Target Challenge

Yeah I had my best card ever 225 with 6 X’s and then Mike counted up his 233 card….I kicked some dirt and bowed my head to the master…..shooting a 30 cal impact at 895 FPS…..next card in the wind was a 204 and next card in the wind was a 215….slowly I am socking up the knowledge from Mike….😎

Good thing the wife wasn’t there she would have kicked my ass like every other time we shoot at 100 yards.

I am noticing the same. The women are great shooters, and we have a couple of great female shooters at my local range. I think they can concentrate and listen better than men! Your wife had some really good first 100 yard cards as I recall. I like to see the women get involved in shooting air guns, wish mine would! Then it would get even more expensive!

Yeah, Tony's wife Barb is a natural. First cards at 100Y were in mid 220's, then a month later she did it again. She's been shooting an older gen1 .25 FX Crown with the .25 King Heavy Mk2 at 880 FPS, and just drilling it. Look out if she shoots Sportsman at EBR this year... Oh, and we already scooped her up for Team Centercut for the competitions next year. He nickname is 5 Power. Her first Extreme FT I told her it was easier to shoot the off hand lane at low power. So it ended up being her first lane of the day, and she shot 4/4. But she forgot she was on 5 power and shot the rest of the course with her scope on 5X - and wondered all day why it was so hard to see the targets....

After some help from Centercut on deciding what pelletgage to pick up I did this,

I definitely don't claim to be the best shooter and this is pretty good for me. Maybe next year I will try to make the pyramid air cup.

Nice shooting! And if you did that without knowing the wind, it is even more impressive. The wind is like a box of chocolate .... you never know what you are going to get. So there is a certain amount of luck and a big chunk of practice.

I use my wind flags and just practice. Sometimes I get it right. Other times I pack up and go home. :)

This pretty much sums it up, and I feel the same. Let’s face it, trying to predict what any pellet (or slug) is going to do at 100 yards in any significant wind is difficult. Even in a light wind, it can also be tricky. Sometimes we get it right, more often we don’t.

I have not had the patience or discipline to take notes with specific wind conditions while shooting EBR cards with flags, but I am considering it if I get a quiet day at the local outdoor range. I.e., document my POA or hold and resulting POI with a couple of favorable wind conditions. Then, inspect my cards and try and determine how accurate my hold was vs. my POI in a 10 ring.

The folks shooting at RMAC can probably give us a few tips!😀

I went out to my local outdoor range this morning with my RAW HM1000x .22 HP. Shot 5 NUAH targets and a couple of EBR targets. Surprisingly, my EBR cards did better than my NUAH cards. I did not use flags, wind was very light and I was the only one at my 50/100 Sight-in range. I used the .30' Scoring Plug to score the targets. Shooting JSB RD's at 935 FPS.
