EBR and FX air rifles

"John_in_Ma"
I've been thinking of putting together a .25 Marauder for the occasion. It will most certainly not be a stock gun. I'm not set on the idea though.
I can't help but wonder about the rumblings this past Summer regarding a Field Target Marauder with some new wonder-barrel developed in house. Could this be a platform capable of running with the Swedish Xmen?

"AirSupply"Let Daystate send a team of 6 shooters with factory prepared guns and try and take the title off FX.

Ditto that response. In response to profiting from an EBR win, absolutely ... like in golf, what ever wins on Sunday, sells on Monday. RAW and Thomas could win, but they wouldn't be able to handle the demand (probably). Maybe Steyr could expand their line? I don't think Crosman could even come close to league that FX, Daystate, RAW, Thomas & Steyr play in.

Has anyone considered that the predominance of a particular brand may be due to it,s inherent ability as well as that of that of the shooter?
In 25 meter competition it was RAW and Thomas who dominated, not FX.
Several years ago Ted Bier mentioned that he was experimenting with a longer barreled Daystate Airwolf for EBR. Apparently that did not work out since he chose his trusty FX Impact for the job. If I remember correctly, reps from Daystate have shot at EBR for several years.

EBR is still relatively new and it still seems like a fun get together for people in the industry. Surely the level of professionalism will rise in the future. Daystate bring out countless 'Limited Edition' guns. How about a EBR limited edition that can match what fx are doing.
Maybe the fact fx has 4000 Crowns on back order might stir them into action!

I have been to ebr every year and daystate hands out just as many rifles for People to use as fx !! You can have the most tricked out rifle etc and it won’t help you any ! I got 2nd in feild target few years ago with a marauder !!! Fx guns are just realy good if not the best out there !! I just got a .30 crown and can’t wait for this years ebr and daystate are nice rifles but for long range accuracy they just don’t touch the fx line they are more into looks and special edition models etc

"Brian10956"I know Pyramid does something but it doesn’t seem to be as popular.
Because Pyramid Air Cup favors 0.177 guns. Max FPE limit is 20, which means my .22 or .25 cal guns can not compete. Rangefinders / other shooting aids are not allowed which feels medieval.

Utah airguns is also jumping in the fray with their event: https://utahairguns.com/rocky-mountain-airgun-challenge-2018/
Their concept of having some tactical / PRS style airgun event is fantastic, but looks like they planned the event last minute. I will try to compete there in 2019 if Utah does it again.

I’d love to see a class of FT like at EBR that actually mimics real hunting and shooting. Two classes, .22 on down, up to say 40 fpe, and .22 and up, greater than 40 fpe. I’d think many people that currently shy away from 20 fpe and less with scope focus rangefinding would start shooting more. Ranges up to 100 yards. Bipods, etc allowed. Just bring your hunting gear and you’re in...

According to Matt Dubber, FX doesn't really do anything special for the shooters using FX guns. If Matt asks for something, it comes right off the shelf. That's how confident FX is in their guns and technology.

And, I would like to see Crosman make a run at the title. Until then, Edgun, Daystate, and others should support some shooters and get them into the EBR professional section. As for those of us not sponsored, it's an open field. Anything we can come up with to get the advantage, within reason, is open game.

JPS2486 - While practice practice practice, does play a role, I can say for sure that the Impact outshoots the Marauder. Both are excellent guns in their categories, but the Impact is just that much more accurate. The trigger is just that much better, the cocking action, well, no comparison. The gun doesn't make a better shooter, but when someone practices and starts pushing the gun's capabilities, the better guns really shine. It takes a bit of both.
