Results EBR 100 yard results

Thanks! Yes, I think it came out about 6 years ago. I've had this one almost 3 years. I'll keep shooting it until I find a gun that is more accurate at 100 yards. Haven't found one yet. I'm sure the 700mm Impacts are just as accurate, but I'm waiting for a more accurate gun... Then I'll buy it and put the Cat out to pasture... ;)

Call me crazy, but I think the old ST barrel has a slight advantage over the STX barrel. And the "why" on that is because the spin rate induced on the .30 caliber pellet is significantly less than the 700mm STX barrel. So with the significantly lower spin rate, there is less "aerodynamic jump" when the pellet encounters a quartering wind from the right or left. I think the windage drifts are equivalent, but the vertical dispersion in the wind is slightly less. I'm only talking maybe 1/4" or so, but that's the difference between being "in the red" and outside the red on a shot where you get caught with unexpected wind after you pull the trigger. This is just IMHO, nothing more...

I'm AMAZED just how much faster times were on Speed Silo this year compared to last year. The Open Class speed Winner and Runner Up were both a full SEVEN seconds faster than Matt Dubber's winning time last year.

And the Pro and Sportsman Class times were correspondingly lower. My time would have placed second last year in Pro, only one second behind the winning Pro time, and was 20 seconds faster than last year's winning Sportsman Class time. In Pro, even third place (Todd Hatfield) was a full ten seconds faster than last year's winning time – I'm not sure how he loaded both Impact magazines so fast plus a mag change out and still shot 60 seconds!

FYI, magazine capacity was limited to 18 shots, so for those not single loading, we all needed to load two magazines and change out a mag during the run...

Congrats on the win, and welcome to the Pro class. Enjoy your 1 hour tour...lol

Ken

That's a pretty contentious comment Ken. Looking at all of the events I'd say Mike outshot you.

100 yard

Ken 221 3x

Mike 217 4x

Speed

Mike 1st place

Ken didn't make the finals

Big Bore

Ken 3 of 5

Mike didn't compete

American Field Target

Mike 28

Ken 19

If Speed and Big Bore are a wash then you only beat him by 3 points at 100 yards and he 🔥 your ass by 9 points in American Field Target. Which fundamentally involves more skill than benchrest 🙀

Congrats on the win, and welcome to the Pro class. Enjoy your 1 hour tour...lol

Ken

With all the hard work that @centercut put in, it's no surprise, nor is it a 1 hour tour... just a cool guy that share's his knowledge with the AGN community and is a top AG shooter!

Congrats on your speed silhouette and 100 yard BR victories, Mike!!!

I think Ken was offering a genuine congratulations. Now that Mike has won the sportsman class he will be in the Pro class, hence the "welcome to the pros". Along with that he gets to take a tour of the Daystate facility in England. So I'm guessing that is what is meant by the "1 hour tour"

As long as it's not a three hour tour on a boat with a skinny guy named Gilligan it should be awesome!

I could be wrong but I like to think the people here are helpful and supportive.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Hmmm, I’m waiting to see test results of .25 Safari. You know by now I’m not going to replace my 100 yard gun (.30 FX Bobcat Mk2) unless I find a gun that is more accurate. I looked at 700mm .30 Impact but it’s not more accurate (its equivalent, but not better). So the search goes on. I’m wanting to get into Hunter class FT, so perhaps a .177 Pulsar with Saxon laminate stock, or their dedicated FT rifle, the Tsar. Both are about the same MSRP as the Safari. I’m not going to comment about the above. It’s up to the reader to decide what the “lol” was for...

But I will say that The Terminator at $1500
