Results EBR 100 yard results

All you guys at the top deserved to win...we all shot in the same conditions and tried our best and YOU guys came out on top. Unfortunately I had one pellet that was sorted and weighed corkscrew left and low as I watched it fly thru my Voryex scope and landed in no man's land...I figure THAT pretty much was a deal breaker..put me in 7th. place but that's how it goes sometimes. It was my first EBR...my Redwolf and I will be back next year and see how it goes. Hope to see you all there.EXCEPT you top three 😁

Mike is was great meeting you this year, not so great losing to you by 2 points - but we had a fabulous time! Next year the pro's! We'll figurer it out - see you next time.

Thanks Rob, great meeting you too. Looks like I should have smiled in those photos! I thought I did?

Anyway I was so pumped from the Speed Silo that I wasn’t really aware what was going on in the 100 yard final and just put it in “auto”, disengaged the brain and shot my targets. I was truly “in the zone” for both events.

In Speed Silo I knew I was behind after I shot the pigs and chickens so I changed to my faster (but less accurate) method after my mag change, engaged my “inner Matt Dubber” for those last two rows and shot faster than I’ve ever shot in my life. I just cocked the gun and pulled the trigger as fast as I could and luckily the targets got in the way... ;)

It’s a little let down after all that build up now that it’s over, and I’m back home in San Diego. I did remember telling Nick (@socaloldman) and Derrick (@zx10wall) that my mantra for the tournament was going to be:

MAXIMUM EFFORT

And thats what I did to the best of my ability. I’m happy it was enough.

Saturday after my crappy second 75 yard card I was a little bummed since almost everyone else scored better on the second card compared to the first but I was 8 points lower. I told myself if I qualified, that Sunday was an entirely new day and the past was history. My second 75 yard qualification card was worse than my winning 100 yard finals card!

And then although I thought I shot pretty fast in the Speed Silo I realized my qual time, although 3rd fastest, was still 5 seconds slower than #1. Sunday morning my practice run was horrible and I was 3rd or 4th. But when it was time for the final run I just felt calm and smooth. It was like everything started happening in slow motion, and there was only me, my gun, and my targets, nothing else. Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast. And my winning time was a full 7 seconds faster than my best qual time...

Maximum Effort...

Good job Mike you kicked butt, amazing shooting. Great talking to you this weekend, you were definitely on your game. We talked about mag loading vs single shot before our speed silo match. I tried mags in the warm up, but it was new and felt slow. I switched to single load for the final and managed to sqeek out 3rd.

Once again congrats, between stress and the winds over the match you were like ice.

Dave, you did great. That Field Target course was not easy and you finished third there also! If you don’t practice loading mags it’s hard to do quickly. You’d laugh if you saw how many hundreds of times I loaded those Cricket mags as fast as possible. My wife thought I was nuts – but of course she wants to go to England with me to tour the Daystate factory and pick out a new gun

I’m lucky I won one of your targets in the raffle. The small quadrant with small orange circle center. Hey, what’s the small steel rod for that has the thumb screw near the base?
