eBay Air Tank question

Fritz. Are they new tanks? or the preowned ones?

If indeed you are trying to make a business out of them, LUXFOR is one of the best out there for tanks. One of the biggest expense in this market is the actual VALVE/ REGULATOR that goes on the tank. I like the one airtankforsale has that has internal pressure, line pressure, fill and blowoff. The 2 gauge model. He wants 250 a piece for them. 

the price difference is in how much profit is in the tanks themselves sold as a package. I bet theres 200 plus per tank profit. That is his prerogative though. He is running a business and takes communication to the next level.

I sent him an email explaining what I was trying to do and he immediately grasped that there was a market segment that he was completely ignorant about. He spent about 15 minutes on the phone with me trying to understand the function and the appeal of airguns. He said "I focus on scuba gear, I never knew about people using scuba tanks for airguns". I told him he's been supplying components to PCP airgunners for quite a while, he just didn't know it. I told him to visit JoeB's showroom/warehouse because he was based in Huntington Beach as well to see what people are looking for.

He was happy as could be to learn about airguns and said he might work on putting something together if it helps him to sell more of his valves and fittings.

If you have a Parker Store or similar business near you, you can build a high quality fill assembly for about $125-130. I built my first assembly but decided to get a second one from Joe Brancata. It was about $150. Now I can cascade different tanks and use most of the air in each tank before needing to get them filled.

I checked the local parker store to me and it was a no go. The local one is privately owned and the owner did not carry most of the stuff in store. Only the hot sellers he told me.

That's too bad. I got everything except the gauge at the Parker/Colliflower Store near me. They had gauges but they were pretty expensive and I just ordered one online.

SO I have a question that has been plagued me for a few months. What is the search criteria to find that bleeder valve setup wiith the gauge in it? I only want the fitting. so it looks like it is 1/4" female to 1/4" female with a bleeder T and another 1/4" female for the gauge....

Who makes them and what are they called or how do I find them? Airhog has a similar one and I believe he said Parker makes them but he wouldn't really tell me. Same thing everyone has been doing. Just skirting over the names.

Really though, I feel Joes setup is superior in the valve setup. I like the SCBA valve having the tanks internal pressure vs some of the line only setups.


So I might get the Guppy, then swap valves and get do a cascade setup for a fill station in the house till I get a compressor.

FYI, Fritz. I spoke to Mike there also. Told him basically for the SCBA tank if he had the PB390 on page 24. Only with the 347 SCBA fitting on the end. Plus if you look closely, he had made a spot where he, admittedly, was going to put a gauge it just never happened. SO drilled and tapped for a gauge and a Male Foster (or female) in 1/8" with microBore hose 1/16". he would have a winner. OR if the whole fitting was forged to be that and smaller, it would be an easy sale. Less loss of air when bleeding. He said he is not posed to it and to check back at the end of summer and he might have something for 'us'. Mentioned that maybe a 'Soft Touch Bleeder' might be nice to have on it also. 


Still though. Would like to know what the name of the actual bleeder-T is called. he didn't have a name for it either. 

Are you asking what the the 4 way valve is called? I just asked the attendant at the Parker Store for a 4 way valve with female 1/4" connectors. I screwed the gauge in one hole, the bleed valve in another, the CGA347 connector in another and the hose in the last hole.

I am in SW WA near Vancouver and there is a place in Vancouver, WA that does the test I have not checked price but I read on a paintball forum it is $10 they do not fill tanks because I did call and ask. The local HPA fill for me is in Battleground WA Ambush Paintball. That is the info I have gathered they are setup to fill the Fireman tanks but you need the CGA 347 type connection. I am waiting right now for an adaptor to fill my DIN 300 Valve. You could call them they told me about $25 to fill the bottle. I have visited with the guy at Ambush he is a nice guy ask for Art he works Saturday but he is not there all the time. You also have to leave the bottle for a day or 2 to get them filled they do them off site in the guys garage. They also have portable compressor units they take to big paintball get togethers. I plan to buy one of those ebay SCBA tanks so I have 2 tanks.

I would call a local fire Department and ask who do hydro testing for them. You may find a local company.

That's about how much it cost around here from a Fire & Safety company. If you have different Fire Depart in your area try a few. It took me awhile to find a station to fill my tanks. All the stations near me refused but I found one about 35 minutes away. I have other options in that there's a paintball shop that will do it for $3 per fill, but I noticed they don't have a water trap so I get moisture in my tank plus they fill it too fast so by the time it cools it's under 4k psi. I just scored an used Shoebox and will use it sometimes.
