East Coast checking in on West Coast. You guys OK over there with the Quake?

Live about 75 miles from Ridge crest and we did a whole lotta shakin!!! We got all shook up!! lol I remember the north ridge quake back in the early 70's remember the landers quake in the early 90's that was a 7.0. I was up getting ready to go dirt bike riding then later was on highway 18 heading to big bear, the real narrow part when the Big Bear quake hit at a 6.2. Looked over towards where highway 38 comes up out of redlands and the whole side of the mountain was sliding down. They had these huge ship anchor chains strung between square rock pillars and they swingin almost like a kid jumping rope we continued up to Arrowhead and went riding all day. When we were on our way back down the part of the Highway we were on coming up during the quake was closed due to a massive rock slide.

We had a wine glass that was part of a decoration fall off the top of a cabinet and break but that's it. My house was here for the 7.0 landers quake and it's only 45 miles away.

I've been earth quakes in Okinawa Japan, Augsburg Germany and even Georgia lol.

lasted about 10 seconds rocked my pool and sent my water sloshing back and forth no damage for us tho so far so good

hopefully it's over for a while now we will see Always be prepared !!

Thanks for the update PCPfan. Glad you didn't have any damage.

I live out in the middle of nowhere over hear on the East Coast and it sounds like World War II out there tonight with all the folks and their fireworks from miles around! My big ol' wussy dog is stressing and panting like it's a thunderstorm!

Happy Fourth.

Hi, I'm in Morro Bay, Water Front-Central Coast of Ca. We are smack dab in between L.A. and S.F.

Two and a half hours west of Bakersfield and I felt nothing. I go back to the Sylmar Quack in the early '70s I was around for all the majors of So. Cal till I left after Northridge.

I have to tell you it is the wildest thing your eyes and feet have ever felt and seen. Your eyes can't believe what their seeing and your feet can't find the ground to run.

My heart and prayers to all involved.

Eamon

Thanks for looking out Fuss. I’m way up North about two hours North of S.F. We’re actually camping in a small community called Ft. Bragg on the coast. I just heard about it this morning. Been away from electronics until I checked my phone this morning. I hope everyone down South is okay. We’ve been evacuated the last two years with the huge fires up here, one to the East and one to the West. Don’t need any large earthquakes that’s for sure! I hope everyone had a great 4th and those down South are safe! Stott

p.s. I’m sure Neil is fine, he lives way up here by me.
