Wife gave me my Regal XL early, so I could shoot before three days of rain. I mounted BKL rings and a Hawke Airmax 4-12X50 on it for the first test. I set targets at 40 yards, after getting it sighted in. The first 5 five shot groups ave .257. I couldn't believe how accurate it was. I used JSB 15.9 for the first five groups. I then tested JSB 18.13 and they shot just a little bigger. I couldn't save that target or measure, because it started raining and storming.
The rifle is amazing to say the lest. The only complaint is the cocking effort need to pull the bolt back. It started to get easier after fifty shots but it is still an effort to get it pulled back. I may put my Hawke Sidewinder 6.5-20X42 on it next week, when I test at fifty yards. The weight with the Airmax seems perfect to me. It doesn't seems to heavy and is easy to point and aim free standing. I did have a can set up at fifty yards and nailed it with first shot, while free standing in my garage. I was able to get fifty accurate shots before I had to refill. I am satisfied with the Regal but still wondering if I should have purchased the FX Streamline instead. I can't wait to hear a review on it. It has the side lever in stead of the bolt and they are known for their accuracy. It may be my next PCP.
