Eagle Vision scope kit and camera recommendations

Just purchased the above kit and matching scope ring for my Hawke Sidewinder. I was going to use my I phone but like the idea of a camera with flip up rear screen and possible slow motion video.

Any suggestions would be greaty appreciated
Is is going to be possible to thread a specific camera onto mount? Or does scope ring have to be glued on all camera choices?

From those that have done both, is the camera the way to go or can you get same quality from iphone 7?

Thanks for the help

I did a quick Google search. Teds holdover EXILIM and this came up:
http://www.tedsholdover.com/video/hunting-and-pest-control/pigeon-shot-at-130-yards-full-equipment-details/

When click on Slow Motion Camera, this link comes up:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00F29UKW2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00F29UKW2&linkCode=am2&tag=tesho-20&linkId=MOO2UOJDXE7JCHQJ

So as you can see, the EXILIM cameras are NOT only in Japan available! Another Google search:
https://www.amazon.com/Casio-Exilim-Ex-zr200-Digital-Ex-zr200bk/dp/B006596PIQ

You can also simply search on Amazon for Slow Motion EXILIM and this comes up:
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=slow+motion+exilim

As you can see, there are plenty of EXILIM cameras available.

That said, the feature that I like the most, when using a camera like these, is that you can shoulder the gun just like you can when not using a camera, thanks to the little pop-up digital viewfinder! Many point and shoot cameras do NOT have that pop up viewfinder, and In my opinion, that makes it really awkward to hold/shoulder the gun, because you cannot hold it like you normally do, which is really close to your eye. You have to kind of hold it away from you in order to see the camera screen. When you watch Ted's or Matt's videos, you will see what I mean. That is not an option to me. Some people do not mind it, but the way I shoot, this is not an option.

However, that particular Sony does NOT shoot slow motion. At least not as "slow" as others. BUT, it still has really killer features.

The next step would be probably the RX100IV, which is $150 bucks cheaper. It definitly shoots slow motion, has the fold-up screen and the pop up viewfinder.

Pretty good write-up between the IV and the V:

Sony RX100 V vs RX100 IV: What’s new and should you upgrade?[/QUOTE]http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinion/sony-rx100-v-vs-rx100-iv-2946226/embed

Kmd.

p.s. when I write this, the formatting looks totally normal. However, once I post it, the formatting is all screwed up... Anyhow.

On the exilim camera look closer they come from a japan camera store through Amazon. Most of them are used as they haven’t been manufactured in years. If you can find one in good condition they are not bad but the resolution especially in slo motion is bad compared to the Sony but the Sony cost 800 to 1000 depending on model. The good reviews you can find on the Exilim we’re done some time ago before Sony came out with the IV then the V The slomotion is the same on both models.
i agree with you on the inconvenience of how you hold when aiming the scope camera, that’s why I bought the Rusbear which has good quality as the Exilim but not as good as the Sony, but the whole Rusbear set up is less than 500 including the camera. There are YouTube’s videos on Rusbear if you want to check it out, I’m happy with it but my problem is I suck with using the video editing software I have to put more effort into figuring it out as I’m using free on line program that came with bad instructions.

My bad! I did not pay attention to where they are shipping from. : )
If someone wanted to still get one of those though, Japan does not sound too bad. Especially when going through Amazon. BUT, I personally would never go with an outdated camera like that anymore. That was then, and like you said, the newer ones out-perform those by far.

I have seen the Rusbear setup and it is not bad. I just don't like "him". He always seems to pop up in other camera mount threads talking smack about the competitors stuff. However, that was a while back when I noticed that, so maybe he is not doing that anymore.

Have you seen the Side-Shot set up? Looks promising. I just wish they would make mounts for different cameras i.e. GoPro and Point & Shoot cameras. There is another one like that for GoPros, but it is way to expensive! I should say over priced. : )

What software are you using? There should be some good free ones out there...

I use Adobe Premiere.

"Brian10956"Email them in England if they don’t have another dealer here or maybe Canada you’ll have to get from England. Maybe you can ask them to just put in a bubble envelope to get a better shipping rate. If they want to keep customers happy they may work with you.
Masood Movahed is the owner ask him. He has been helpful to me when I was thinking of getting his statement plus the Sony RX 100

Offhand I don’t remember what software I downloaded. I’m able to shoot good video of my shooting and with the Rusbear you can still look through the scope while filming I’m shooting at 720 240fps I just need to figure out how to cut the video and get the slo motion working. As far as Rusbear goes I did have a slight alignment problem caused by shipping damage and he gave me a choice of a refund or New part to fix problem, He is a Russian and he understands English very well in my correspondence.

I will do that. thanks. the kit is scr-100 for sony. looking at the kit and sony rx100 camera i don't see how it will would work. the lens kit would slide over the lens and onto the knurled ring that turns on the camera. then your camera would spin once attached to scope. anybody have one of these that could explain and show me how it would work?
