Dust Protection

What do ya’ll use for keeping dust and debris out of fill lines when not in use? I’ve seen foster (8mm) metal plug caps available on various sites and “dead” head plugs for the female ends. I guess those would work. Any other options? I’m growing tired of wrapping plastic baggies around the ports.

Also, I picked up an Antlers in-line filter (chinese made filter) the other day. It seemed like a good alternative to the Diablo coming in at $50 shipped. I tried it last night but it won’t hold pressure – leaks like crazy. I’ll need to work on sealing up the fittings better.

I run air pressure through the lines for a few minutes prior to attaching any line to the gun or the SCBA. Hopefully, the air will expel any foreign objects.

Rubber vacuum plugs from an auto parts store are what I use on both female (5/16" OD 3/16" ID)  and male (9/32" ID 1/2" OD) fosters . Cheap, easy and if you loose one a replacement is easy to get. I bought a kit assortment from e-bay.

Great minds think alike! I was going to post this photo today. These little rubber feet are about 10 cents apiece at the hardware store. I've been using them for years.

    Hope this helps.
