Tuning Dreamline Double Plenum

It's raining today and I was bored, so I thought I'd play with my Dreamline Classic .25. I had previously added the Power Plenum and increased the regulator pressure from 110 psi to 130 psi. This increased velocity from around 880 FPS to 910 FPS. Today I added a second Power Plenum and increased hammer spring tension one full turn and now the velocity is 960 FPS making 52 FPE shooting AA 25.4 Grain pellets. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome!

Good question. I don't think so because there would not have been the volume of air before adding the additional plenum. When I was tuning it after adding the fist plenum, it hit that point of no return where it started to lose power, so I had backed it off to where the power peaked. I might have been able to if I had increased the reg pressure to 150 or 160 psi. I really want to back the reg back down to 120 psi and see what I can get with the second plenum. I think I could have gotten to 1000 FPS with just adding a bit more hammer spring tension. My goal is to try and hit 950 fps at a reg pressure of 120 psi.

With no plenum, I was getting 850-860 at 140 bar with 33 gr. but quite the arc past 30 yrds. And only about 20 shots per fill. 25 gr shoots great but still low shot count. Maybe I need to convert it to a bottle...

Which model do you have? Is it the Dream Classic? It will be hard converting that to a bottle, if you have the Tactical or the Lite, it will be easier. I have a Dream-Tact Compact I converted to a bottle and that really helped the shot count!

That's a lot of power out of little dreamline, I tried adding a 500mm barrel to my little compact and didn't care for the length. It actually feels longer than my impact with 700mm barrel, I really love the dream-tac compact configuration but friend of mine is buying it. Are you going back to dream-tac compact form factor again? That was a sweet setup you got, I totally get the bored and moding a FX part......just too easy!

The double plenum is installed on my .25 Dreamline Classic, it came with the 600mm barrel, so there was amble room to add 2 plenums. I do have the Dream-Tact also, and I do prefer the shorter 320mm barrel on it. Since the 500mm barrel has a smaller diameter shroud, I can put the larger 480cc or even a 580cc tank on it and it looks much more proportional. It's still just as accurate with the shorter barrel, it just doesn't make the same power, and I like how light and compact it is with the short barrel. I am able to change both from .22 to .25, so it does give a lot of versatility!

You can get more with one plenum and porting your tp. I'm at 59 fpe with single plenum, tp port, stock reg. You don't need to remove the tp from barrel, just plug it with paper towel, ect.

I opened up the bolt probe a bit this morning to match the Huma Dual TP. After increasing the Reg pressure to 135 BAR, I was getting 880 FPS for an average 58 FPE. I have not readjusted the hammer spring yet, and saw a slight drop in velocity after opening the bolt probe. What do you have your regulator pressure set to?

So is your reg pressure the same for all the data? What is it at? Hammer spring same?

Those numbers above are with the regulator set to 120 BAR. I did adjust the hammer spring after adding the Power Plenums and again after adding the Huma TP.

I upped the regulator pressure to 135 BAR and was getting 58 FPE with the 33.95 grain JSB's. I opened the bolt probe opening and actually lost a bit of velocity and FPE dropped to 56-57 FPE. I have no idea how may turns in the hammer spring is set to, I just increase it ¼ turn till velocity drops and then back it off about 1/16th turn till ig just starts to drop again after the peak and leave it at that.
