UA was kind enough to get my new Superior STX barrel and some FX .25 slugs in 2 days! So it was time for a little testing today.
Up to compare are 2 slugs at various speeds, from my FX Dreamline .25 (huma reg and FX power plenum @ 138bar), the NSA 29gr .249 slug and the new FX 26 gr .25 slug.
Both slugs chambered nicely (my fx .22 slugs were very tight to chamber in every gun).
I went from MAX to 3 on the hammer adjuster for each, shooting 5 shot groups.
NSAs seemed to shoot tighter groups with an occasional outlier. The FX seemed more consistent on paper, but all groups were more open and spaced out.
My personal choice, especially for the price, is the NSA 29gr at PW 5. After shooting all these off a bag, I went elbows on table and shot another sub-moa group with those settings. I'm really happy because this is the first configuration I've had that was happy with any slugs, and with these power levels and groups, they certainly give the JSB kings and heavy's some real competition.
