Hey all. When tightening my dovetail 1 piece or 2 piece scope mounts to my AA Pro Sport I've just been elbowing it, to what feels right. Is there a torque figure on the base screws I can use to confirm my elbow that I'm at least not over-tightening it?
These dovetails are pretty minimalistic in their surface area of contact between matching surfaces of the rail in the barrel and the mount itself. I could see one over-tightening a mount and damaging the dovetail, either on the gun or mount or both.
My current mount is a 3 bolt rail, 1 piece mount. I put my torque driver to them to see what my "elbow feeI" measure out at and it's 35 in.lbs.
