DonnyFL vs standard FX Impact moderator

The data I have seen gives the Donny a slight edge but all of our ears are different so some don't notice it as much. Also the power level you are shooting at makes a huge difference in how quiet they will be. At lower power levels they both may sound the same. Crank up the power a bit and the Donny should edge out the stock FX.

Of which FX moderator do you speak? The one made by Donny or the earlier cheap ones that are nothing more than an empty can. Noise wise, there's little difference IMO, but the cheap one that came on my 30 cal barrel kit gave me very bad accuracy. I replaced it with a SUMO and accuracy was perfect.

Honestly, the difference comes down to accuracy. Is there a point of impact change when you swap between the moderators? That’s been the experience that I’ve had. They both do a good job at quietening down the guns, but the poi I get sometimes or the occasional flyer from the turbulence of the moderator. I’d set up a 50 yard target, shoot with, and without each and see what kind of groups you get out a magazine with each moderator and without the moderator and that might show the difference beyond hearing.

I tried a tatsu which is a shorter version than the sumo. To me it sounded a litle louder, than the FX hollow one. 

drbytes, I have found that Tanto to be a little quieter then the empty mod on my new Impact .25. The bigger difference is the Tanto on my gun is more accurate. Not by much but but is noticeable and believe it changes the barrel harmonics because the Tanto is a bit heavier.

Different LDC's also have different points of impact, some shoot considerably better or worst. I noticed a substantial difference between Neil Clague, Hugget and DonnyFL. The Donny is quieter but way less accurate than the Clagues.
