donnyFL Carbon Fiber Sumo

I didn’t say that. I said it was a one off and will not be part of their product line. I can’t speak for what they are willing or not willing to do, how busy Izzy is out in the shop and what he has time to do. I just don’t know.

Peskadot671——> After it was done, Yolanda told Izzy to fire up the laser and engrave it for me. One side says Stoti, the other says DonnyFL, Carbon, Sumo. It is subdued but shows up great in the sunlight outside. I tried to take a picture for you but without a flash, it doesn’t show up well. With a flash, it blows it out. The DonnyFL, Carbon, Sumo side was taken inside the house just now. The Stoti side was taken outside in the sun. Izzy is making us a smaller Tanto for my son’s Maverick, it should be here this week, I’ll see if I can get some better pictures of it.

Don’t be envious. If you want one, call Izzy, all he can say is no. My son saw my Sumo and of course, wanted a carbon version of his Tanto. I called and talked to Izzy, it should be done early this week. They told me to mention that it was a one off so they didn’t get bombarded with a bunch of requests. Have a good one.

I understand, I’ve got quite a few moderators too. Yes, I didn’t know about the engraving. After Izzy said he had sent it, I got a message from Yolanda saying something about the “added touch”. I didn’t know what she was talking about until I got it. I like it too. It’s understated, not flashy or anything but certainly easy to see outside in the sunlight. Apparently, they wanted to test out the laser and see how it looked when they engraved carbon fiber.

Didn’t want to make another post for the same thing but of course, when I got my DonnyFL Carbon, Alex wanted one. His Koi Carbon for the FX Maverick got here yesterday. It looks sick too! I love the knurled ring on the back and machined front that makes it look cool!

Sorry, I haven’t weighed them. After I found the batteries in my scale dead, I forgot all about it. I’ll look for batteries and do it now.

Here you go. The standard Tanto is 3.57oz. The Carbon Koi is 2” longer and weighs 3.7oz. My digital reloading scale only measures up to 100g so the Carbon Sumo won’t register. Sorry. Oh, actually, I’ll try weighing it in two pieces. Just a minute…



The Carbon Sumo is about 5.34oz. I think the standard Sumo is 5.65oz.
