Done buying PCPs...

I’ve quit buying PCPs several times now.

It never gets old.

LMAO, I like that one. My life story,LOL

I don’t want to wake up and find I’ve spent 20K on PCPs. I love the hobby, but I can only shoot one gun at a time. More pellets and another bipod and I’m set... my safe full of firearms, that haven’t been shot in ages is my “lesson learned”. While my sportsman’s club is only 4 miles away, I still prefer to shoot targets and plink in my backyard. Between my four PCPs, and three springers (Beeman R7 and Hwk77 and RWS34) I feel like I’m already living large.

Oh, I apologize if you think I was laughing at you. I was laughing @ Nervoustrig. Cause , I could relate. I agree this hobby can suck up money like a Hoover vacuum cleaner with a 1000 hp drag motor on it. I admire anyone who can quit & be satisfied with only a couple. Every year, about this time I say my last PCP, then for some reason just after squirrel season comes in mid September, I get the urge to get something else. I wish I could quit too. Good luck with your commitment & being content is a great thing.

Nutcracker.

Whatever you do, don’t buy a theoben rapid.....

they are extremely addictive, one is never enough, there is no known cure for rapiditus, I tried changing my drug of choice a bought an impact, but it doesn’t give me the “fix” I need.

My addiction started with a Crosman Backpacker pumper for pest squirrels. I then moved over to a Gamo and later to Diana springers. They were far too noisy. Then I hit the Marauder PCP. What a great squirrel gun but too conspicuous in a neighborhood. It was then after many year at it I bought a Marauder pistol. It was 50/50 on my squirrels. Not enough power. This Fall I got a Veteran and a Uragan. I can't asked for more.

It's a tie. Both are very accurate at 25 yrds. The Veteran is a standard .22 and the Uragan is a .25. I got the Veteran for squirrel and the Uragan for coyotes. My guess is the Veteran is an LW barrel since the Taipan folks had to switch over from CZ for some reason. The Uragan has a CZ. Both can pick off the numbers on both sides of the bulleye on a Birchwood Casey target at 25yrds (JSB pellets). One of the range masters at my local range noted I guess airguns can be accurate. He was watching me shoot through binoculars. There are mostly powder burners there.

I got 177 cricket compact..2 taipan veteran long .22 .25..I think I was ok..then I modified my condor to .257...shoots awesome so I'm building a .223 ..have one condor to shoot 177 and 22 slugs...another to shoot. 250 and .30..then I buy a 457 texan.. so I need a 308 to..dont want to buy bullets ,so start buying bullet molds for the 4 calibers sizing dies. lead melting pot..I hope that the 308 is my Last one ..but I dont have a .30 cal bulpup so a 357 cricket converted to .30 sound great....ok I'm a addict to..but the cricket will be my last one 😁

1 FX wildcat is enough for

thats what i said when i bought my wildcat too!

i just purchased a brocock compatto to set up for birds and pesting.

i hope the brocock is that awesome which L.Leon talks about to have his same thoughts of being satisfied to be done. ...........but i have a bit of doubt. not of the gun. of the addiction.

TS, the Compatto IS awesome, accurate, and reliable. You’re about to find out for yourself. As I type this I’m ogling mine, she has a permanent spot in my stable. Here she is with the Aztec Emerald FFP back atop.

not necessarily upgrading for me. just another gun for certain situations. will be tuning the brocock down to 700 fps for pesting and a higher shot count. heck! im not sure why everyone is power crazy. i have my .25 wildcat set at 800 fps with 34 gr. heavies. i shoot prairie dogs at 120 yds . as long as u know your hold overs.

Agree 100%.

It takes a lot less energy to kill pdog sized and smaller critters than most realize. I do the same with .22 right under 20fpe. Kills em DEAD.

I have my own compressor and a couple large volume tanks but I still like to be frugal with my compressed air.

definitely nothing wrong with wanting a flat trajectory. but as long as you know your gun u r fine.

reminds me of archery hunting... everyone is so caught up in getting every fps out of their bow. ive been shooting deer for well over 30 years with traditional equipment at 45# pull and cedar arrows. its the thrill of getting close.

to each his own!
