Does FX make a longer case?

I have an original Impact that up until I got the 700mm barrel fit in the case nicely w/o disassembly.

Now, not so much. I have to take the LDC off and there's only 1.25" left

I'm planning on a custom LDC/Shroud from Neil and want a case where I don't have to disassemble the gun to put it away.

Are the newer cases longer? Or should I forget about FX's cases and get something from Plano or somewhere...???

As far as I'm aware. The case for the impact only fit 600mm or shorter. The 700mm will need to take the ldc off. Even if you buy a 700 impact. It will come with the ldc off to fit the case. If you don't want to take off the ldc each time, you will need to get a custom case that will fit the 700mm.

If one could order a older Crown case, that should be long enough. The continuum cases are short. Wish FX would have a deeper box, the ATN with ranger on it won't work, AR soft case won't work either.

Mine came yesterday and I have to take the ldc off. I think they were designed before the 700 barrel was introduced. It's a shame, as it's a nice hard case. At least it's not like the original Impact case where you have to take the bottle and barrel off.

Buy a case that it will fit in. Get the FX logo from the internet. Make a stencil and voila, an FX case that your gun fits in. Also maybe look for a manufacturer's mark as I'm sure FX isn't in plastics molding.......yet. The company who makes the case for FX likely makes longer models FX doesnt buy.

How long is the impact with 700mm barrel and moderator?

About 38.25" with FX mod. Add a Ronin and an aftermarket butt pad, and you could add another 3"+.

Mine is 38.5 right now. Neil Clague is going to make me a custom ldc/shroud, but I think we'll have to keep it the same length.
