Does anyone else use lead as a backstop/target?

Over the last year or so I've been keeping the lead I trap from shooting indoors. I melted it down and first cast it into a pellet tin and shot it, it's so quiet. Has to be the quietest medium to shoot into and the pellets stick right into it.

Some shots at 400-450 and one at full trot almost went right through it haha. Sometimes if you hit the back of another pellet they will stack and stick together, if not they just fall down and land in front of the plate. I melted a flat spot in the bottom with a little propane torch so it stands on it's own, I have a good respirator I got at work and a little propane camp stove so I can do it outside, lead fumes are bad news.
