Do you “name” your guns?

More recently (and frequently) some names came about as result of profane tirades; names like Hi-Tech POS, No-Shootin' MF, Over-Priced Trotline Weight, Psycho-Bitch Diva From Hell, Second-Mortgage Disappointment, and Should'a Bought A Motorcycle!.

Quite silly to name a gun. Shows a detachment from reality. Something a child would do. That being said I’ve named only 3 of my guns: Black Betty (Huben), Lenore (Career 707), and Speedy (sk-19)

I enjoy my airguns a LOT more than my shovels. 

Tools are for doing work.

Whether I’m using my airgun to ethically take game, practice or in competition, I always enjoy it. Naming them just adds to the joy. 

That said, Tex and I look forward to causing quite the ruckus on the TEXtreme FT circuit. We have to dirt roll some suckers before they get the jump on us. Yep, we aim to put the quahitis on ‘em!! Just hide and watch

I’ve only ever named two guns I’ve owned and I think it’s partially because I built them. I’ve built others though and nothing about the process caused me to name them. My money pit P15 is my Chi-pan and my Prod mini rifle is the Weerod. All my other guns the manufacturer gave them a good enough name for me. It also keeps me from becoming attached. To put the Weerod in a box to be shipped off to a unknown home might be heartbreaking.

My First pcp was a .25 Marauder, and after endless mods until nothing was original, I named it " The Messenger". It was the messenger and the projectile is the message.



Now I'm going to have to think of names for all my current guns lol.

Nope. I don't name my other tools (hammer, wrench, screw driver, pliers...) either.

Nope. Well sorta. My brother and I have some nicknames for various guns, but it's generally descriptive (water fowl engraving=Bird Gun). The only exception I can think of is a French shotgun named "The Dame".

This really does sound like Full Metal Jacket.... If you have not seen the movie then you need too. He named his rifle Charlene.

The only one I've named is my HW 97 Black Line. She's called Black Beauty.
