My HW 97k does not need them. That being said .....different scopes have differing amounts of adjustability. Mine is a leapers and it can handle the small amount of droop in the barrel. Did you run out of clicks while sighting in?
I don't see why a HW97K would need droop compensating it's not a break barrel, my HW97K has a one piece sportsmatch mount and was just a few clicks from sighted, when I mounted it.
I use a 2 piece SportMatch mount set on my .20 cal. Hw97k. Have you tried centering your scope's vertical adjustment and shooting it at 10 yards. That will tell you what you need to know.
Well, I guess I got lucky! I mounte a hawke scope and didn't have to make any adjustments, i was hitting the bullseye out of the box with no adjustments.
