Do bad pellets settle to the bottom of the tin?

A odd curiosity I was having after getting to the bottom of a 500 cnt tin of JSB 10.34 .177 pellets.

As I start loading and shooting the last 50-75 pellets at the bottom of the tin I am starting to get more fliers. Is it a coincidence? Do the pellets move and shift around and the odd heavies or rejects somehow work to the bottom?

Anyone else experience this?

Interesting observation. To get to the bottom of a 500 count tin would take some time and a lot of digging with fingers or rolling/tumbling pellets back and forth to dump out the amount wanted each time you go to load. That being the case, said movement would probably be damaging or wearing down sharp edges on some of those thin skirted .177's at least enough to get a few fliers toward the end of the tin.

YES!

The pellets at the bottom of a tin are CRAP and DANGEROUS!

So, pour the top HALF of all of your tins of .177 pellets into another container. Then put the bottom half of all of your .177 pellets in a box and send them to me for disposal.

Actually, ONLY the top layer of your pellets are good and safe! So, out of a tin of 500, you may only get 50 or 100 safe good ones. Send the rest to me for disposal.

It is the ONLY way to be sure those bad pellets won't harm you!
