Do any of you use / recommend shooting felt cleaning pellets thru your barrel?

I've always wondered, does shooting those felt cleaning pellets through your air rifle do any good or any harm?

I've read some say that they are LOUD - that doesn't bother me.

I've read some say to shoot 3 or 4 at a time.

One guy even recommended a little squirt of WD40 into the muzzle, but I'd always thought any petroleum based product would "eat up" your o-rings.

I've also read some say they never clean their air rifles.

What do you guys do?

I've just received my new FX Wildcat for AoA and didn't know if I needed to do anything to it.

I would use them on a pcp if you have the right size, maybe dont shoot to many of them in a springer.
That said there are better ways to clean your air rifle but if you have them use them.

If you really need to shot them in a springer then a tip is to soak them in balistol and they will be a lot heavier and almost work like a light pellet.

Nope....just "pulled patches". When I first started airgunning decades ago I bought all sorts of "Beeman accessories" including a container of felt patches. When I used them I found that I had to stack several together to keep my springer from "slamming" or sandwich 'em with a pellet. Considering the price of the "felts" I simply used "pulled patches" after that.
